Great read from another photographer, I did photography for 3 yrs straight and relate to this. Even though now I just dabble for something to do. There couldn’t be more truth to this read!! ❤️

There’s a husband who’d rather be with his girlfriend in front of it.
There’s a wife who’s faking every ounce of her smile in front of it.
There’s a couple that fought through the night in front of it.
There’s a grandmother who hasn’t told her family that she’s ill in front of it.
There’s a lot of life in front of it..
A lot of real.
A ton of raw.
Handed to me to be adjusted.
A lot of issues to be turned from nightmares to daydreams placed there in front of it.
…My lens that is.
As a photographer I’ve captured an unmentionable amount of real life.
Then through the years I’ve added a filter of perfection to it…
I’ve tidied the ache.
Filtered the frustration.
Painted over the pain.
Tended to stressed expressions.
So that no one else sees.
So that no one knows the ache of the moment…
The sting of the past.
And when those images are sent out to be looked upon by others…
The filter allows my sweet clients to be who they want to be.
A little more put together.
A little more relaxed.
Who they really are..outside of the brokenness of this world.
As I pondered that…
I realized that He does the very same thing for us.
Jesus.
He’s the filter that hides the sin.
The hurt.
The loss.
The brokenness.
The truth of our lust.
The abruptness of our tendencies.
In this case though…
He applies the filter of Himself.
He applies it to our chaos of broken humanity…
To our what ifs and would have beens…
And we are beautiful again.
We are lovely once more when seen through the filter of grace that He adds to our mangled hearts.
And today I wanted to remind you that…
It’s okay to “apply filter.”
To remember that your aren’t seen as you see.
But that you are seen through a metaphorical photoshop of the highest standards.
And I wanted to nudge you to accept what has already been paid for.
What’s been labeled for you.
His love adds a shimmer of joy in place of the pain.
It adds radiance.
It adds what’s missing.
Friend, you are viewed through the filter of flawlessness.
You are seen through the lens of love.
And you are “captured” by the greatest artist of all time. ✨
