When I started photography my life and family looked very different than it does now. We all go through incredibly joyful times as well as hard times that we would much rather pass through quickly. The one thing I realized after going through a divorce 3 years ago was how grateful I am that I took the photos no matter what season I was in. Some sessions hold joyful memories and others do not but I can look back on every documentation of my life and realize that there was purpose behind every moment. I'm glad I took the photos. If I could tell anybody one thing I have learned in the last several years it would be to simply TAKE THE PHOTOS. Summer sessions are open, link in bio.

Things that are harder than they look: getting my own kids to smile naturally for a photo. Things that are easier than they look: getting YOUR kids to smile naturally for a photo. I genuinely do not know why this is my life but here we are. The good news is twelve years of doing this means I have approximately one million tricks up my sleeve for getting real genuine smiles out of kids who want nothing to do with a camera. Newborn season is one of my absolute favorites and I want to talk about why for a second. There is something about photographing a brand new human that just wrecks me in the best way every single time. Those tiny fingers. The way they curl up. The way the whole family looks at that baby like they hung the moon. I photograph newborns year round because that kind of magic does not have a season.

Like genuinely felt it in my chest. And then somehow that turned into this whole actual thing and I still pinch myself that this is my job. Unpopular opinion: the messy sessions are always my favorites. You know the ones. The toddler who refused to look at the camera for the first twenty minutes. The big kid who was SO OVER IT from the second they arrived. The baby who decided nap time was actually right now. And somehow, SOMEHOW, by the end of it we always have the most real, most beautiful, most them photos I have ever seen. Because that is your family. That IS the magic. Do not let fear of what if the kids do not cooperate keep you from documenting this season. I promise you, I have got us.

As we head into summer I want to make sure you know: June and July Golden Hour sessions are open. 8 spots per month, always limited.
