This was an astonishing capture late in December, I am blessed, I am grateful, it was an amazing moment. The day was an extra-day for my daughter, Sabrina, the road was closed to Medford, for her plane ride back to Chicago in the afternoon. Late that rainy day we decided to revisit this nearby location next to Crescent City. The light seemed to be from a supernatural being, pouring rail all the afternoon, but all lit by the sun and foggy at the same time, and wherever one looked about. Even though the camera and I were under an umbrella, after about nine or ten shots, we were both soaked. I wondered did I get anything, was the camera level, what about those trees on sides? All the usual things that I ponder after an important shot, but this time there was NO chance to return. Was it any good? I must admit, I forgot about that moment, until I came upon this sequence editing in Lightroom. Only one image was useable, this capture required almost no work in Lightroom, I was blown away by what I felt looking at the image, the rain, the sun, the FEELING of being there. I have been working in Lightroom since 2007, and never have I so taken, so moved by my first glance at a capture. And I still feel it. One of the most special moments in a long career...
And a belated New Years! It has been tough getting back in the swing of things!!!
