Ever been inside the frame in the blower duct space of a GE super 7 series ???…

I have!! And let me tell you it’s wild especially when you’re working on the upper traction motor duct boots and repairing the damaged baffling.

Since there was some debate over one of my previous videos where I shared a small clip from a documentary made about our railroad over “proper use”of vintage airbrake schedules or what they believe is the case and my engineering abilities. This should help settle the matter….

I Believe this was one of my last if not last run I made for the Railroad museum Hauling a deadhead move to our depot in Parrish in the fall of 2023. Just prior to our move to our new home. Video was taken by my wonderful wife who was there for the occasion.

Famous railroader and Trains Magazine Columnist and writer Ed King has passed away at 90 in his home in Florida. Our hearts and condolences are with you and your family. May the lights shine green for you all the way on this last trip home.

While railfanning the Tropicana juice train one day back in 2021. I watched an impatient Audi driver make a mistake which almost landed them a Darwin Award… Location is Experimental Farm Rd, Palmetto Florida. Train is CSX Bradenton Local L700. This railroad is the Old Atlantic Coast Line’s mainline from Tampa to Bradenton and Sarasota.

Still cant believe it’s technically a K series horn! GSMR did a fantastic job job with tuning this K horn to match it to the same pitch as Nathan’s other legendary horn the M5! Hats off to our friends Great Smoky Mountains Railroad for this one. Will definitely be looking to build one. When my funding allows for such a case! ゚

Directly after completing high-school I spent several months traveling the country as part of the Ringling Bros. Blue unit Train crew. The photo here is looking back at the still purple sign which denoted the highest location on the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. Which ironically was also called Highland Alabama which was 1,119ft. Above sea level. This was taken in-route to on one of the many train trips to the various city arenas where the show would play. This particular trip was leaving Atlanta and heading to Nashville. Sadly the circus train and even the infamous Ringling Bros. is now nothing more than a memory. I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to take such an adventure and even more grateful to have had the courage to follow through with this adventure.
