Thank you to those who have served and haven given the major sacrifice. Their lives.
Be kind to those who have lost loved ones and to those who may not want to remember every year. Not remembering doesn’t erase impact. But it also doesn’t automatically equal bad intent.
So maybe it is this: not remembering may explain someone’s behavior, but it doesn’t excuse every consequence. And it definitely doesn’t define their whole character. It makes them someone who may need compassion, truth, support, and maybe some help putting the pieces back together.

In one of my networking groups I belong to I was asked to share my messy middle of business I thought I would share a piece of it with you also.

My messy middle has been building a brand while still figuring out who the hell I am in the middle of it. And I don’t mean that in some dramatic, overly deep way. I mean it in the very real-life way of realizing I wasn’t just building a business. I was also rebuilding parts of myself. For a long time, I was mom, wife, the person behind the camera, the one figuring everything out, the one making it work. And then all of a sudden, I was trying to step into being a business owner, a brand, a leader, a creative, and someone people could actually trust and hire.

That sounds exciting until you’re in it. Then it feels like a lot of second-guessing, overthinking, changing your mind, questioning your prices, questioning your offers, wondering if people even understand what you do, and trying to explain your value without sounding like you’re begging people to get it.

Last year really showed me how much personal stuff comes up when you’re building a business. It wasn’t just about getting clients or posting on social media or making money. It was about asking myself, “What do I actually want to be known for?” “Do I trust myself enough to charge for this?” “Am I willing to be visible?” “Can I stop shrinking myself so other people feel comfortable?”

That was the messy part.

You don’t need to love the camera. You just need to show up as yourself.

Because when you’re building a business, people aren’t just buying the service - they’re deciding if they trust the person behind it.

Joy. Grief. Gratitude. Missing someone. Being celebrated. Feeling unseen. Remembering the mothers we lost, loving the mothers still here, and honoring the women who have mothered us in ways that didn’t always come with a title.

To every mother, grandmother, stepmom, bonus mom, mother figure, and every person carrying love, loss, or both today, you are seen.
