Bellus Photography by Paige Henderson Executive Portraits • Personal Branding • Signature Image Sessions Louisiana born and raised, I am in love with the beauty that surrounds us here!

I have been obsessed with fashion magazines and dedicated my studio in Mandeville to showing people their most gorgeous selves through magazine styled photo shoots. I believe everyone deserves a gorgeous portrait of themselves! And the experience of being photographed with a fan blowing your hair, dressed in a beautiful outfit after having your hair and makeup professionally done is so transformational.

Professional Women of St. Tammany September Luncheon at Beau Chêne Country Club ✨

Such an inspiring afternoon learning more about the incredible work happening right here in our community.

We heard valuable information from Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center about treatment options and resources available to cancer patients, along with the amazing work Krista Rhodes and the Genesis 322 Project are doing to support single moms in our community.

Grateful to be part of an organization that brings women together to connect, learn, and shine a light on the people and organizations making a difference in St. Tammany.

🛑 I’m not even sure how I would choose a photographer.

I mean, my sister’s friend has a camera. My iphone takes pretty good photos too. And now there is AI! You don't have to go to a studio at all. Or do you?

If photography isn’t your world, how ARE you supposed to know? How do you gauge?

Most people don’t know how to compare photographers beyond looking at a few pretty pictures and checking the price.

But there’s so much more I’d want to know.

Do I consistently like their work—or just that one great photo?

Will they help me figure out what to wear, what photographs well and what we’re actually trying to create?

Will they direct me, or am I expected to magically know what to do with my hands?

Do they understand lighting, posing and retouching well enough to make choices specifically for me?

And maybe most importantly: do I trust them?

Owning a camera is the easy part.

Knowing how to create a photograph intentionally—and guide another human being through the process of making it—is where the real work begins.

So if you’re trying to choose a photographer, don’t just ask, “How much?”

Look at the work. Look for consistency. Ask about the process.

Choose the photographer whose work makes you stop and look—and whose style feels right for what you want to create.

How do you want to be photographed? It's the start of every session planning.

It sounds like a simple question, but it tells me so much.

Maybe you need a polished headshot that feels confident and approachable. Maybe you're building a business and need photographs that finally reflect the level of work you're doing. Or maybe you simply want to be photographed in a way that feels like you.

Before I think about lighting, backgrounds or poses, I want to know what you need these photographs to say.

That conversation shapes everything that comes next — wardrobe, styling, expression, lighting and the way I photograph you.

You don't need to arrive knowing how to pose.
You don't need to know your “best side.”
And you definitely don't need to have it all figured out.

That's my job.

You just need to tell me where you want to begin.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.

Your headshot can look professional without looking like everyone else’s.

One of the things I hear from clients is that they know they need updated photos — but they don’t want a stiff, overly posed photograph that doesn’t feel like them.

Good.

Neither do I.

A strong headshot should still look like you.

Your personality.
Your style.
Your confidence.

My job is to guide the lighting, posing and expression so you don’t have to walk into the studio already knowing what to do in front of a camera.

And yes, we’ll get the polished image you need for LinkedIn, your website and your business.

But we can also make something with a little life in it.

The Bellus Headshot Mini Marathon is coming up, and I have six sessions available.

Professional hair and makeup.
A guided portrait session.
Images designed to actually look like you — on a very good day.

Message me “HEADSHOT” and I’ll send you the details.

How do you prepare your dancer for a headshot? 📸

With NAD Headshot Week coming up, here’s the good news: they really don’t need to do much.

A few simple things can help them arrive feeling their best:

• Come with clean, styled hair — the way they normally like to wear it.
• Keep skincare simple in the days beforehand. Now is not the time to experiment with something new!
• Younger dancers don’t need makeup unless instructed otherwise. For older dancers who normally wear it, light and natural is perfect.
• Get a good night’s sleep and drink plenty of water.
• And please don’t worry about braces, glasses, a last-minute blemish, or whether your dancer “knows what to do” in front of the camera.

My goal is to create a headshot that still looks like them — confident, polished and age appropriate.

I can’t wait to see everyone this week!

It starts out as a headshot. But then something else happens...

I start to imagine the image as a magazine cover. Because everyone deserves to be seen with the same care, intention, and confidence usually reserved for people already in the spotlight.

That's always been my favorite part of photography.

Taking an everyday moment...
..and reminding someone they were never ordinary.

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲. 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Dance photography has taught me something over the years...

The most powerful portraits aren't always about the biggest leap or the highest extension. They're about capturing the personality, confidence, and artistry that make each dancer unique.

It's an honor to document not only a season of dance, but the years of dedication that made this moment possible.
