There was a time when my thoughts and actions were consumed and seemingly under the spell of this patch of water. Most of the time it’s nothing special aside from the very large adult Great White that I’ve heard likes hanging out there too. I’ve never encountered her( I’m assuming but I think it’s a her) because I’m pretty sure we have opposite schedules, I liked heavy waves gutting themselves on the reef and she prefers calmer and easier to hunt conditions. The half mile swim was always filled with anxiety and anticipation and a little concern for my friends, I never really worried about myself out there until I stopped trying to destroy everything positive in my life that wasn’t surfing. I want more than anything to take back my rightful and hard earned spot amongst elite surf photographers and my friends playing in the ocean. I have recently been feeling very ready to pick up a camera again. We shall see 🤙🏼
