There’s something special about Thanksgiving break. The college kids are home, the house feels a little fuller, and for a brief moment, everyone is together again. This year, I’m opening the Starlithawk Greenhouse to YOU for holiday mini sessions for the very first time! This unique new photo spot is already catching the attention of photographers looking to rent it for their own sessions, and I can’t wait for local families to experience it, too.

🎄 Christmas at the Greenhouse
Where: Manhattan, Illinois
When: Thanksgiving break Nov 25th , 27th & 28th
Session: 15 minutes
Who: Immediate families only
Investment: $300
Included: 10 professionally edited digital images
Setting: A beautifully styled greenhouse with neutral greens, golds, whites, and creams (I will be posting the setup on social media in the first few weeks of November -maybe a little bit before…)

One day, your children won't care what your house looked like.

They won't remember whether the laundry was folded or if dinner was homemade.

But they will look for the photographs.

The ones where Mom is laughing.

Dad is making everyone smile.

As wives and moms, we're usually the ones behind the camera, making sure everyone else is documented while quietly disappearing from the story ourselves.

Please don't let that happen.

Be in the frame.

Be in the memories.

Make family photos a tradition—not because everything is perfect, but because life keeps changing.

Children grow.

Parents grow older.

Families evolve in ways we never expect.

The little faces I used to see at birthday parties, soccer games, school concerts, and neighborhood cookouts are becoming the faces I'm photographing for senior portraits.

How did that happen?
It feels like yesterday we were chasing toddlers with juice boxes and sunscreen, laughing about how busy life was.
Now we're talking about college visits, dorm rooms, scholarships, and graduation.
Somewhere between the carpools and the school drop-offs, time quietly kept moving.
And now, here we are.
This is why I believe senior portraits are about so much more than a milestone.
They're a chance to pause.
To see your child exactly as they are in this fleeting season.
To remember the smile you kissed goodnight, the laugh you've known since they were little, and the person they're becoming.
Because the years may feel short, but the memories don't have to.
Let's preserve this chapter before it becomes another beautiful story you find yourself saying...

Lately, I've found myself saying the same thing over and over...
"How are they old enough to be seniors already?"
Not just our own kids.
The little ones who used to run through backyards together.
The toddlers who shared Goldfish crackers at playdates.
The teammates, classmates, neighbors, and the children of friends we've known for years.
Somehow, they're all stepping into their senior year at the same time.
It's a beautiful reminder of how quickly life moves.
As moms, we don't just watch our own children grow—we watch an entire generation we've loved become young adults.
That's why senior portraits mean so much.
They're more than beautiful images. They're a way to pause time, just for a moment, before graduation, before college, before careers, before life carries them into the next season.
Because one day, these photographs won't just tell your senior's story.
They'll remind you of a chapter of your own life, too.

One minute, she was twirling through the backyard with scraped knees and wild imagination.
The next, she's standing in front of my camera... confident, beautiful, and somehow already on the edge of the life she's been dreaming about.
No one prepares you for how quickly childhood quietly slips into memories.
As moms, we spend years wishing time would slow down, knowing it never really does.
That's why these moments matter.
