On Thursday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 19, we will sponsor outings to Fahnestock State Park in Carmel, NY; and Dockside Park, in Cold Spring, NY. Both sites will be visited on each day.

Contact Charles Dexter to reserve: 212-315-1963 (before 10:30 pm). Volunteers with cars needed for out-of-town outings.

At Fahnestock State Park, the group will focus on Pelton Pond or Sunk Mine Road. Dockside Park is a seven-acre waterfront park. Though small in acreage, it is one of the most spectacular sites to take in the Hudson River. The area's iconic beauty was captured by 19th-century Hudson River School artists.

The group will leave NYC at 9:00 am and shoot until late light, with dinner afterward, returning to the city between 9:00 and 9:30 pm.

Endurance and balance will be needed for short, moderate hiking on stony, uneven trails and an old Jeep trail. Plan for changeable weather. Bring hiking boots, rain gear, lunch, snack, and water.
