Petals and Portraits - Capturing life's most memorable moments.

As with most of my sessions, I have a story:

Lauryn first reached out to me nearly a year ago about being their wedding photographer. At that time, I was just coming off a 6 wedding summer and I was burned out, not knowing what 2026 would look like. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, and she asked again because her other plans were falling through. I happy agreed, and am so glad I did. I have known Lauryn and Travis via other avenues in life, so I loved getting to know them on a more personal level, capturing one of the most important events in ones life.

I had the honor of capturing Ean's senior portraits last night. My favorite location was the high school bleachers to commemorate his excellence at sports (plus I've never photographed anyone there before). We've known Ean and his family for over a decade now, so it's always a little extra special when I get to be a part of something so memorable for people I have watched grow up.

I am a sentimental person, and with that knowledge, also know that it makes my heart happy getting to watch my clients' families grow.

This past week I have gotten to capture baby announcements, newborn images and now updated family photos to capture Kyle, Arielle and their sweet baby boy. I was lucky to be asked to take their engagement photos, wedding photos and now family photos.

I love that I get to call so many of you my friends and I appreciate every opportunity to see you all and capture those images that mean so much.

It has been a goal of mine to get better at capturing water drops. Now, I know these aren't perfect, but I have been making an effort to use the manual focus dial, and am loving the control that is allowing me to have.

Loving these macro details, and the velvety red petals of this Spartacus Dahlia. This is a new one for me this year, and am anxiously awaiting the whole bloom to open.

Colorado in all her glory 😊

We've been back home for about week now and I am still processing our trip as a whole. Colorado is a beautiful state, really, its our favorite place to visit, but we have leaned that it is also very volatile. Wildfires were the primary discussion throughout this whole trip, diverting us from our first 3 night stay in Ouray. Luckily we were able to add those nights to our Lake City stay. Since we have been back, the Ouray fire seems to have stabilized, but now there is a fire closer to Lake City causing evacuations north of thier town.

I have over 1500 photos to continue to w**d through, sort, delete and eventually turn into a photobook, but for now, these are a few of my favorites. They are in no particular order, but cover a cast area of the state, including the San Juan Mountains, Crystal Mill, Lake City, Ouray, Creede, Lake San Cristobal, and North Clear Creek Falls.
