Anyone who is a friend to my personal page already knows that we will most likely be losing one of our kitties soon. Now, I have spent the last 13 1/2 years of his existence capturing his handsome face, but that hasn't prevented me from trying to capture many more images knowing that he is near his life expectancy. (He is at least 15/16 years old - we aren't sure of his actual birth date).
So, here is one of my recent favorites 💜

I have been slowly working on editing these beautiful mommy and me photos. I first met Breann when I was really pushing my photography a couple year ago when I was offering my pop up mini sessions. Since then, our paths have crossed in other ways as well through other mutual friends. I love that I have the opportunity to capture these special moments, where you can just remember the kiddos being little...even if all they want to do is get back in the car.

Sometime in the last week, I've hit 300 followers on Facebook - this is a huge accomplishment especially since photography is something I do on the side for fun.

I've finally (almost) completed all of the photos for Kirstyn Krolczyk at Beyond the Mirror Salon. Aside from being a close friend, she has also inspired me to do more photography, asking me to capture all her most memorable moments, and recommending me to her clients and friends as well.

I appreciate everyone who is here; those who have been here since I started sharing my photos separately from my personal page, and those who are new. I'm not trying to be super busy this year, more looking to take on the projects that I think are fun, and this was definitely a fun one.

What a fun way to get back into photography this spring! I spent much of the winter getting caught up on life, organizing my own photos, and crocheting. I am so thankful Kirstyn Krolczyk asked me to photograph her salon Beyond the Mirror Salon and all the sylists inside for marketing. I had a blast capturing these images, something that was different than anything I've done thus far.

I haven't felt inspired nor motivated to photograph much of anything lately, but I have been moving my indoor plants around lately, which led me to capturing these today.

I thought it would be fun share some of the first photos I intentionally took. These were taken circa 2004, when I was taking Photography classes at WSCC. Todd Reed (of Todd and Brad Reed Photography) was the teacher and we had an actual dark room, where we would develop our own film and process our images. I was in heaven. I have plans to purchaee film again and play around with my ancient camera, but I have yet to make that happen.

The first photo was down at 5th Ave Beach in Manistee. It was a foggy day and I thought this photo was so cool.

The second photo was from the first assignment in class: Present a photo that you like. What's better than my cat? This was Stripes.
