Wind shifted to come from the north today... apparently there has been another bird drop! Heading to the birding center in the morning... rain or shine! Was told there were hundreds of migratory birds in the birding center garden this afternoon while it's been pouring down rain.

There was a migratory bird "drop" on the island recently... they have since pretty much all left until the next wind shift (this coming Sunday) but we went to the birding center anyway to check things out. I heard someone say there was a Scarlet Tananger hanging around the gardens and we decided to take one last look before leaving. As we were walking towards the gardens I said a prayer and asked God to show us the tanager if it was still around. About 2 minutes later an Indigo Bunting showed up (one of my very favorite birds!!!) and I was able to photograph him taking a bath in some freshwater! SO COOL that God shows up with something He knew I would love even more than the original request. That's exactly how He operates!

In early Feb I took a day trip with the Birding Center to the Laguna Atascosa and the Cactus Creek Ranch. While out, we ran across a big pod of American White Pelicans. They were swimming back and forth in unison in order to feed. It was really a cool sight & sound!
