These two. šŸ„¹

We had so much fun taking Adriana and Nileā€™s couples photos at the Minnesota State Fair, and now today Adriana moved into college and Nile is heading into his senior year.

How are we already here?!

So glad we got these photos before life gets even busier. They laughed, they loved on each other, we wandered the fair, and somehow I managed not to get too emotional behind the camera.

You donā€™t need to love having your picture taken to have senior photos you actually like.

Getting to photograph my cousin for his senior pictures was a pretty cool one for me. We kept his session relaxed, let him be himself, and created senior portraits that actually feel like him ā€” which is exactly how it should be.

Senior pictures donā€™t have to feel awkward, over-posed, or like something youā€™re just checking off the list. A great high school senior photography session should feel comfortable, have a little personality, and give you images youā€™ll still be glad you have years from now.

Pretty proud of this kid. And Matthewā€¦ you crushed it.

Some people come into your life through work and somewhere along the way, they just become family. ā¤ļø

Our sweet Jen lost her grandma this week, and our hearts are hurting right along with hers.

Jen has been such a special part of Noahā€™s Ark for so many years. She has loved on, encouraged and cared for so many of our clients, and now itā€™s our turn to wrap a little extra love around her.

Iā€™m so thankful I had the opportunity to photograph Jen with her grandma and give them this memory together. Itā€™s one of those reminders of why photographs matter so much. Someday, they become more than just a picture.

Jen, we love you. Weā€™re praying for you and your family and holding you extra close right now. ā¤ļø

I hope Iā€™m not the first person to tell you thisā€¦

You do not have to know how to pose.

Seriously.

One of the biggest things we hear before a senior photo session is, ā€œIā€™m so awkward in front of the camera.ā€ And almost every single time, those same seniors end up saying, ā€œThat was actually so much fun!ā€

This little behind-the-scenes moment is from Audreyā€™s session, where Elizabeth is doing what she does bestā€”cheering her on, demonstrating every pose, fixing the little details, and making sure she never has to wonder what to do next.

The goal isnā€™t to look like someone else.

Itā€™s to help you look like the best version of yourself.

Confidence isnā€™t something youā€™re born with. Sometimes it just takes someone believing in you first. ā¤ļø

You donā€™t need a fancy dress or an over-the-top location to absolutely own your senior photos. āœØ

A couple of weeks ago, we met Helena in downtown Wayzata for her senior session, and she completely rocked it. Jeans, a blue shirt, a beautiful summer eveningā€”and confidence that grew with every photo.

She also brought one of her best friends along for support, which made the whole evening even more relaxed and fun. There were plenty of laughs, a little cheering from behind the scenes, and so many moments that felt completely like Helena.

Downtown Wayzata was the perfect backdrop for her Minnesota senior photos, but Helena was definitely the one who made these images shine. šŸ’™
