Here is Jen, founder of Quen Imports. Jen brings extra virgin olive oil from Sicily to American kitchens, partnering with a family producer in Castelvetrano who has been pressing Nocellara del Belice olives since 1963.

We built her branding session around that story. Olive greens on the backdrop, a kitchen setup, bottles on the table, and a heaping bowl of those Nocellara olives.

Shoots like this are one of the bazillion reasons I love sharing my studio with , who Jen came to first to create the olive oil and product photography for her website and marketing materials.

(We call our studio Food & Faces, because they photograph food, I photograph faces)

Jen walked out of our studio with a full set of branding portraits and a complete library of product imagery, and we walked away with great memories and a ton of olives.

Last fall, I had the honor of snapping this photo of our friend Jeff Cook on what turned out to be his final day coaching. Jeff has spent almost 35 years coaching at every level, from UMass and Dartmouth to Cincinnati, the Philadelphia Union Academy, and the last eight seasons leading Penn State men’s soccer.

He’s known for developing players on and off the field, and we're so excited for him as he’s stepping into his next chapter of his life and career.

We were all at the match in the pouring rain, cheering Penn State on as they fought Michigan to a 0–0 draw. I had my Leica M240 with me (fully manual, because why make life easy), and after the game, I was able to jump onto the field for a minute to capture the moment.

I love this frame of him “looking back.” The stands behind him fall into a triangle, almost pointing toward "the future".

It was dark, rainy, and the artificial light was really awful, so converting it to black and white was a no-brainer. It helps strip away the distractions and let the expression, shape, and mood do the work.

A incredible moment for a great coach and an even better human.

Had a great fun time photographing and his team for new headshots. Since they are a content and creative team, my goal was to capture images that were artistic and energetic. We played around with a high-contrast look and a little lens flare.

Huge congratulations to for crushing it on NBC’s The Voice last night.

A couple years ago, I had the pleasure of casting and photographing him for a project for the Seagram Building on Park Ave, where we paired the building's iconic architecture the essence of play.

Go Jonah!
