A totally real list of reasons I'll book that thing I keep saying I'll do:

When I lose the weight.
When the kids are older.
When I have more time.
When I feel more like myself.
When the budget looks better.
When things calm down (lol).
When I'm finally... ready.

No shame here - I've said most of these too, for different reasons.

The benchmark of 'ready' doesn't actually exist.

You're allowed to just... go ahead and do it. Just because.

I've been so blessed to have the privilege of making beautiful artwork, in beautiful spaces, with beautiful humans, creating beautiful memories.

They have these gorgeous images to look back on forever to document and preserve this fleeting part of their lives. I get the giddies and love everything about the process: from talking through and coming up with a creative plan in all aspects, to photographing the session, to painstakingly editing them (I freaking LOVE editing, it's therapy for the artist in me!), and finally delivering the photos and seeing the joy in my clients faces that they DID THIS.

It never gets old.

Another Birthaversary today! Spring is POPPING, LOL! 4 years ago they became parents for the first time, and I am honored I got to be a part of it as their Doula + Photographer.

Happy Birthing Day to this incredible family. I got to see them BOTH stepping into their roles as parents, and they knocked it out of the park right away. I'll never forget how excited Dad was at their in home newborn session to show me their evening shower ritual. Those photographs have become some of my favorites of all time!

"It's a beautiful day to have a baby", 10 YEARS LATER EDITION!

This family went from being a couple to being a family 10 years ago today. They rocked their first baby's birth. 10 FREAKING YEARS AGO! I remember it like it was yesterday. The phone call first thing in the morning, what comfort measures we used.....ALL OF IT. 10 years later.

I feel like I've been doing this forever, and I'm so grateful I'm still in touch with so many of my families and get to watch them grow. Birth creates a bond that cannot be broken.

Happy Birthaversary to this incredible family!!! Big props to and for being an incredible birthing family....this time AND the subsequent!

Thank you for taking these and showing me what I do. With MUCH LONGER HAIR BACK THEN, LOL!
