Cool Pittsburgh history moment of the month!
A client/friend brought in this old (circa 1896) image of Pittsburgh for restoration and reprint. They had rescued it from an old office building in the city that was being remodeled. It was covered in old to***co tar stains, scratches and water damage but was such a unique image of the point that truly captured the industrial time of our famous city so we had to try our best to bring it back to life.
It took a lot of retouching work in Photoshop and I added the clouds to give it a little "freshness". Now it's a beautiful 24x36 print with a UV protective coating and mounted to masonite to keep it looking great for another 200+ years!

Soooo, I try to educate my clients, friends and just about anyone that will listen about this as often as possible. I'm definitely not looking to offend anyone but I had a good opportunity to visually show this example. I LOVE photography and am a perfectionist with just about everything I do. Which is why when I hear all of these new photographers trying to get work and they call themselves a "Natural Light Photographer". BUYER BEWARE. This usually means that they don't know how to use accent lighting and are relying on the sun and the camera to get a good exposure. I've been doing professional photography for 20 years and I can tell you that this rarely looks as good as it could.
I consider myself an "Enhanced Natural Light Photographer". The resulting images look naturally lit, but are actually accented and improved with other lighting.
