I have a complicated relationship with social media, which isn’t a rare phenomenon these days. I have definitely been less present here lately, and struggled with the idea that I need to post to stay relevant. I’d rather be fishing.

But one good thing I can credit directly to this technology is the collective web of artists, makers, fisherwomen, and humans that I’ve turned into friends.

So when I had an unexpected chance to move one of those online friendships into real life, I cleared my schedule and packed my car, bound for South Carolina and Katie Cahn - Metalsmith.

Honestly, this was a colab I had dreamed of for years. Connected by our mutual love of flyfishing, Katie is my dream creative match! Being asked to photograph her pièce de résistance was an honor, and worth braving the suffocating evening humidity and chiggers. We had the best time frolicking with Hilary’s old man, who was the best horse model ever.

It was impossible to choose my favorite photo from this shoot, but I’d love to know which one you love the most!

Today was the first shoot day of the Unbridled Photography Retreat with my dear friend Kansas Equine Photographer - Olivia Long in the Utah mountains, and I couldn’t go to sleep tonight without sharing a couple of my favorite shots. Shout out to Jen | Barrel Racing Mom and her sweet boy Johnny Cash for waking up at the crack of dawn (really, well before) and meeting us on the mountain. In true cowgirl spirit, she pulled off both an elegant look and a rodeo queen without breaking a sweat.

Can’t wait for a full weekend of more!

One of my favorite engagement sessions to date.

Give me all the horses, flower fields, overcast June skies, and pre-storm breeze that I can handle! This session with Mady and Preston felt like a western romance fever dream, and it became one of those milestone moments for me as a photographer.

It’s now three years later, and I’m preparing for another milestone on Monday as I head to Utah for an epic adventure with my girl Kansas Equine Photographer - Olivia Long for the Unbridled Photography Retreat. For five days we will be shooting horses and cowboys and cowgirls in the most incredible locations, and I feel like this is going to change my life.

I’ll be sharing some moments from this trip while I’m out there, as well as putting my feet in a western river chasing trout, looking for wild horses, and recharging my batteries after the busiest spring season of my career.

With a birthday on Imbolc, it’s only right to share homage to the goddess that is .

I am MONTHS overdue on sharing from this collaborate creative session, but maybe I needed to wait till now to truly bask in the glow of how fabulous this was.

If you’re needing some sweetness to believe in, here’s some.

Looking into a home filled with the love of a newborn is a special view, especially during the holidays. I’m forever grateful for Sharpnd Sharpor inviting me to capture the magic of having Emerson join their family after Thanksgiving.

Home sessions will always feel so special, surrounded by the bits and pieces of what makes each family unique — bonus points for curious sheep, a protective pup, and natural light in a cozy living room.

The end of the year is just around the corner, and in true photographer fashion, I’m still sharing and finishing up the last of my sessions from a busy fall season!

Easily one of the most beautiful family sessions I did this year was for the Fisher family at their home away from home. There are truly no bad views at the Farm, but September might be one of the most magical seasons with its golden glow as evening settles into the pastures and hillsides.

We played and lets the kids run as the sun settled lower, jumping from the swing to the creek to the fields, just letting fun lead the way. Some days are easier than others behind my camera, and this was one to remember!

I’m ready for the slower season coming after the first of the year, and have some fun projects I can’t wait to announce for 2026!

There are very few reasons I voluntarily sleep outside when the lows hit 29 degrees, but last weekend’s .race.productions Invitational was one of them.

Some incredibly dedicated humans came to together to shred some gravel, practice their map reading and routing skills, and seek the thrill of climbing and descending some beautifully remote parts of Cherokee Natuonal Forest.

The highlight for me was getting riders gathered for a standoff meeting, only to see the show and surprise as a passenger train rolled into camp and we started loading bikes. And this was only the start of the grand adventure on Saturday.

I was able to have drive me around as we showed up with the snack wagon and to snap photos along the route. Riding shotgun let me really take in how the environment we were riding through moved at such a slow and beautiful pace around us.

I was a student of observation all weekend, and love how I was able to capture such a fun group of humans.
