Ruby kept all four of her kittens alive.
Then she watched families choose every one of them—while no one asked about her. 💔🐾
At the shelter, Ruby fed them, cleaned them and curled around them every night. She taught them how to play, trust and become brave enough to leave her side.
Once the kittens were healthy and old enough, the adoptions began.
One carrier left.
Then another.
Ruby watched from behind the glass as each baby disappeared into a new life.
Soon, only little Pip remained beside her.
When eight-year-old Emma arrived with her father, she immediately fell in love with him. But each time Pip explored the meeting room, he returned to Ruby and pressed against her side.
Emma noticed.
“Who is adopting his mom?” she asked.
The shelter worker lowered her voice.
“No one has asked about her.”
Emma looked at Ruby—the mother who had given everything to prepare her babies for their own homes.
Then she turned to her father.
“We can’t make him leave his whole family behind.”
That afternoon, two carriers entered Emma’s home.
Pip stepped out first. Ruby followed.
When they curled together on the same purple blanket, Emma placed two name tags on the wall:
RUBY + PIP
They had planned to adopt one cat.
Then they met his family. ❤️
Would you have made room for Ruby too? 👇
