🔥🏁 SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT: BAD COMPANY GARAGE 🏁🔥
Today we’re shining the spotlight on Bad Company Garage — a name with a history that goes all the way back to the early ’90s!
The Bad Company name started with Gary Glassford, who ran local demolition derbies with friends and had a Bad Company sticker on the side of his truck. Every time they pulled into the track, people would say, “Look out — Bad Company is here!” And just like that, the name was born.
Years later, Gary, his son Jimmy, and Tom Louk gave the current owner his first opportunity behind the wheel of a derby car. When the original Bad Company drivers retired or passed away, he didn’t want to see that piece of derby history disappear. In 2024, with permission from Jimmy and original driver Mike Kelley, Bad Company was brought back to life!
Today, Bad Company Garage is much more than just demolition derby. The whole family is involved, with his wife Sara and son Noah both running modified bump-and-run cars. They compete in demolition derby and bump-and-run racing, while also building, fabricating, modifying, and bringing some seriously tough cars to the track. 💥🏎️
🔧 What makes Bad Company Garage different?
They don’t just show the finished product. Through their YouTube channel, they bring people along for the entire process — finding cars, tearing them apart, fabrication, welding, repairs, mistakes, preparation, racing, and everything in between.
One of their biggest goals is to help bring the next generation into the sport. They want to show that you don’t need a huge budget to build and race and that anyone willing to learn and put in the work can give it a shot.
There’s also a special family connection behind the channel. Growing up, family projects, cars, and memories were always recorded. Now, Bad Company Garage is creating those same kinds of memories for their own family — memories their kids can look back on someday and say, “That was Dad.” ❤️
🏆 One accomplishment that means the most:
Winning the Mad Dog Award at the 2023 Eastern Michigan State Fair. That award was especially meaningful because it was dedicated to his cousin who had passed away. He went into that derby determined to bring that award home — and he did.
With a lifetime around racing and roughly 15 years in demolition derby, Bad Company Garage continues to build, race, fabricate, teach, and keep the derby spirit alive.
The goal is simple:
💥 Keep a piece of derby history alive
🏁 Bring the next generation into the sport
❤️ Create memories that last long after the cars are gone
