On April 9, 2026, we had an amazing time exploring Gloucester’s incredible architecture! This city is a treasure trove of British architectural history, with a history that spans over 1,300 years. Gloucester is famous for its rich medieval legacy, which showcases an amazing timeline of Romanesque, Early English, Decorated, and Perpendicular Gothic styles.

On April 9, 2026, we were so impressed with the Gloucester Cathedral. This 11th century building is beautiful both inside and outside. We loved it.

Tucked into rural Herefordshire, Ledbury is a medieval gem perfect for a slow English escape. Its vibe is unhurried and literary, centered around the stunning “Market House”(1617), a black-and-white timbered building on cobbled Church Lane. Life here moves at the pace of a friendly chat; wander the narrow alleys, browse independent bookshops, and peek into cozy antique stores. The grand **St. Michael and All Angels Church** anchors the town’s quiet spirit. Food lovers should time a visit for the famous **Ledbury Poetry Festival**, when every pub garden buzzes with verse and cider. The town’s warmth lies in its timeless, welcoming rhythm.

We stumbled upon this incredible Market House in Ledbury, England, and we’re totally smitten! It’s a two-story wooden historical landmark right in the heart of the town. Built in 1617, it took over five decades to complete and is the best example of this Tutor style architecture we’ve ever seen.

Every time I wandered through these narrow alleyways, I felt like I was stepping back in time. The locals have been using these shortcuts for centuries, making them an integral part of the Shrewsbury’s history.

These lovely half-timbered houses are truly beautiful, which is why Shrewsbury is such a wonderful place. You’ll find many of these charming old buildings scattered throughout the medieval towns in this part of England.
