The American Alien Wins Big At Miami International Film Festival (MiSciFi).

The American Alien won 3 awards at the prestigious MiSciFi Film Festival. Awards for: Best Director In A Short Film, Rodrigo Rodriguez. Special Award for Social Consciousness In SciFi Filmmaking, The American Alien. And one of the festivals top honors, The Visitor Among Us Award.

The Miami International SciFi Film Festival is one of the most prestigious and competitive sci-fi film festivals in the world. In 2024, films from 17 different countries were entered, representing some the most talented filmmakers in the SciFi genre.

When asked for a reaction from The American Aliens, director and writer, Rodrigo Rodriguez he had this to say, “ I am humbled and stunned. I attended many of the Miami screenings and saw some truly amazing work. To be so honored by the sci fi fans and filmmakers is just an amazing feeling. To the cast and crew of The American Alien I say this, know that the sci fi community loves you and embraces and recognizes our vision and story of a little grey alien lost in the American immigration detention system.”
