Give Sheryl Mayhew a camera in her hand and a wilderness path under her feet, and she's a blissful girl. A self-taught nature photographer, she's inspired by the raw, unfiltered, purest forms of the natural world. Spending hours in the fields of northern Illinois, she seeks to capture the beauty of the wild. Birds of prey, flora and fauna, old barns and structures, rivers, streams, sunrises, and sunsets. She volunteers at the McHenry County Conservation Resource Wildlife Center. Her other hobbies include: camping, hiking, birding, and most anything outdoors. She's the grounds keeper of her own personal zoo, and is a proud, single-mother hen to three beautiful chicks.
