I'm incredibly proud and excited to share with everyone the Video I made for my in New Zealand!

I did this project not just for a grade for my Independent Study I also wanted to make something more that highlighted the student's life-changing experiences abroad, how effective field courses/learning is (especially in this field), and why these programs should be supported more. The opportunities through College of Media & Communication, Texas Tech University & Study Abroad at Texas Tech University are incredible, especially the unique field courses led by Jerod Foster and Robert Peaslee

Thank you API Study Abroad - Academic Programs International for being our guides through the country, y'all were the best!

I hope you enjoy the video, cheers!

“The Queen’s Ferry, the Best Pub in New Zealand”

On my recent study abroad across New Zealand, me and my fellow classmates were able to explore Auckland, and within this great city was an absolute gem of a place. While the girls when to go get coffee, me and the boys did the next logical thing and go get a beer! We found this Pub in front of us, The Queen’s Ferry. We were soon greeted by Valerie and Michael, the two most incredible, friendly, and social bartenders (and bar-owners) I’ve ever met!

Once we heard them playing country music, I think the friendship was sealed.
I can’t tell you how absolutely accommodating and friendly these folks were! Later that night after hopping from a couple other bars, the group us finished the night off at the Queen’s Ferry. Thank God they were open because that night was July 3rd and they stayed open for us so that we could celebrate the 4th of July with them, and boy…did we celebrate! They played the National Anthem, Toby Keith, and all sorts of patriotic songs all we missed were fireworks, but that’s nothing a few “Sweet Treat” Shots couldn’t fix! I genuinely think we were able to be the first people the Celebrate the 4th of July that day.

So here’s to the Oldest (and best) Pub in Auckland!🍻
Thank y’all for beginning our journey off on the best note possible! We wanted to go back the whole time, and still do over a month later! I think y’all have earned your honorary Texas Citizenship.

If anyone is ever going to Auckland or New Zealand, GO TO THE QUEENS FERRY!!!!!!

Cheers!🍺

The City of Sails - Auckland, NZ🇳🇿⛵️

The first stop in my long journey through the beautiful land that is New Zealand. Auckland absolutely blew me away with all it had to offer in experience and sights. I’m not a big city person by any means but Auckland…now I could consider it. I have never seen a city streets so clean, and walkable, around every street corner down to the docks is a new place to peek your nose into and peruse whatever goods are there. The city was bustling yet, you can make sense of it all. Taking walks to the docks every morning was such an amazing way to start the day, watching the sun peek over the horizon, glitter on the water and reflect off the concrete & glass jungle all around you. And don’t even get me started on their coffee!!! ☕️🤌🏻

Auckland opened my eyes to show what a big city abroad is like, what cities can actually be; Hubs of culture, food, business and entertainment, all in a clean, close and somehow peaceful environment. We could learn a few things from this city back here in the US…quite embarrassing when you look at our big cities. While Auckland isn’t nearly as big as even half of our cities…I don’t think that’s a good excuse.

I hope to return again soon someday…mainly because I need a good pint and a “Sweet Treat” from my favorite Pub in all of New Zealand…more on that later🤫🍻

New Zealand on Film 🏔️🎞️📸

Last month had the incredible opportunity to spend 20 days in New Zealand doing a Masters Independent Study overseas. This was my first time abroad in maybe 10 years, so I knew I had to make this journey special, so I brought 3 rolls of film with me!

I don’t know really what to say, more than I said on my personal account’s post ( ). And honestly trying to really figure out what to say has prevented me from actually uploading and sharing my photos…but what I can say is that I deeply miss that environment already. What an incredible experience of deep learning!

I am currently finishing a video over the whole trip and why field courses & should be pushed out, and made more accessible. So stay tuned for that!

Here’s to hoping of a return to Aotearoa soon!

(Also just saw we can upload TWENTY photos on insta?!?! That’s insane!!! Enjoy scrolling through my slides!)

(And yes, I know the 2nd to last slide isn’t NZ, but I thought it was too good not to share)

“Evening in Sydney Harbor”

Yesterday my friend and I had the opportunity to explore any and all of Sydney, Australia! We got to end the day with this view of the harbor…well minus the crazy phone adventure after this but that’s a different story lol.

Now we are at the Airport waiting to board our flight to our New Zealand study abroad (courtesy of & )!!! I am so thankful for this opportunity to be abroad for the next month and am excited to share this time with some friends!

“Logan and Ashleigh: Made for Each Other ”

I had the honor of photo/videoing my first wedding for my good friend Logan (.productions ) and his new wife Ashleigh. On top of running with 2 Canon R6Mk2s, I was lucky that Logan brought a roll of film for me to use too!

These shots were from the roll of film, I was anxious about how they might turn out especially for a wedding, but I’m glad they actually turned out!

So to end off, here’s a note to the Newly Weds:

You both are so complementary of each other, like fitting puzzle pieces. However, it’s no puzzle to see that you too were made for each other. The overwhelming happiness, excitement and elegance that exuded from you both that day was magnificent.

I think there is no better fitting word that describes your character, morals and actions more than; Pure.

You both are a showcase of Purity.

You have pure love, love that is hard to find. You have opened the eyes of many, to show what love should mean. You both made me and a bunch of the groomsmen really reflect on things about love and what it should be, look like and feel. Hearing your vows floored me…and don’t even get me started on trying to not shake or drop my camera trying to film your last dace!!! (I was absolutely weeping)

All that to say, congratulations! You have started a new beginning and future. The future holds many uncertainties however, I know without of shadow of a doubt there will be vast amounts of happiness, laughs, and pure love in store for you both!

‘Inside the Antique Mall’

One of my favorite places to go when I am home is the Antique Mall in McKinney ( ). There’s something about antiques that I can never get enough of. Seeing things made of real handcrafted wood, thinking about the stories that each object has no matter how big or small, smelling the pages of old books that haven’t been read in who knows how long. There’s always something to find and enjoy while antiquing, even if you don’t buy anything. You get to help give a second life to the past.

Not a phone in sight, just people living in the moment🥰🤗👍🏻

Ya know I think our ancestors truly knew what real entertainment was…real stakes, life or death. No annoying commercials or ads, just vendors asking if you need more grog. Jousting with lances splintering into shards getting into the eyes of the young peasant on the sidelines.🏇 Fighting tooth and nail so you can maybe own a scrap of land by the age of 15.🏰 Slaying beasts of all species and size, showcasing the indomitable human spirit.🔥💪🏻Showing off your skill so that you might have a glimpse of that raunchy maiden’s ankles.😮‍💨🥵Separate clans now united in the same color of blood that stains their banners⚔️…getting all of this whilst eating a turkey leg, can’t get much more peak than that.

This concludes my medieval posts from .productions Batchelor party, It was a certified hoot!

Thanks for letting me take some photos!

A few weeks ago I got to see .usa at the with some buds. They were a whole lot of fun to watch and absolutely killed it!! I’ve never really understood why people hate bagpipes so much, paired up with a blaring drum, nothing can get you more hyped up…maybe that’s my ancestors talking lol🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Well done .usa

“A Moment of Self Reflection”

While I was at the Grand Canyon I saw many Ravens, one of my favorite kind of birds. Around the GC Visitors center they have imprints or silhouettes of the local wildlife etched into the stones and walkways. Many silhouettes are of Ravens, which our friend here is observing. Ravens are incredibly smart, and this one was observing this etching for a solid 3 minutes turning its head from side to side observing what is the closest thing to a professional portrait of itself it’s probably ever seen. I wonder what it thought about.
