New CERT Basic Class Spring 2026- Registration Opens Friday, February 13th!

Do you know how to assist your neighbors and co-workers in any emergency? Will you be able to help if emergency services are delayed? If your answer was not a resounding “Yes!”, then consider taking the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course offered by Montgomery County, MD CERT Team.

Montgomery County’s enhanced Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course will prepare you for common emergency situations and the hazards and disasters that may impact the DC Metro area.

This course follows the FEMA CERT training curriculum. Topics include fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster preparedness, wound care, disaster psychology, team organization and disaster response. Additionally, this course includes CPR/AED training.

The next class will commence April 8th, with registration on Eventbrite beginning on February 13th. It is a hybrid (online/in person) class, which will run for 4 consecutive weeks, on Wednesdays, April 8, 15,22 online via ZOOM from 7:00 PM to 9 PM and In person on Wednesday, April 29 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturdays, April 11, 18, 25, May 2 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The owners of this BMW and Audi are the reasons why car shows get shut down. Lining up at a pedestrian crosswalk and launching across the intersection is just plain stupid. We suggest you go to a local drag strip on days we are having an event. In other words we don’t want you to back. We do not tolerate this behavior. Everyone is mature enough to behave but these two ding dongs think they are “special”.
