Just two very manly construction guys disrupting traffic on Route 15 today.

Actually, Douglas Christopher Legore and I were teaming up to capture some cool drone footage, video, and stills of a line-painting project for a client.

We like to joke around, but working in an active construction zone is no joke. Safety was a priority for us from start to finish, and being out there with a crew was a good reminder of just how much the people working in these zones deal with every single day.

It was also a reminder for me to always slow down, pay attention, and give crews plenty of room. They’re just trying to do their jobs and make it home safely at the end of the day

Twenty.

That's a small number if it's your age (which it definitely isn't mine)! It's a much bigger number when it's your business anniversary.

This spring kicked off 20 years of Minick Photography, LLC (and shooting for nearly 35 years). The milestone came and went without much fanfare, but it certainly didn't go unnoticed. Reaching 20 years wouldn't have been possible without the incredible clients who have trusted me to help tell their stories. For that, I am truly grateful. I am also blessed to have my wife, Erin, who has supported me 110% from the very beginning, back in 2006.

Two weeks.

That's a small number, too. But fill those two weeks with meaningful collaborations, and it's amazing how much can happen.

In just the past two weeks, I've done numerous headshot sessions for healthcare providers, educators, and board members. I've had video and drone projects in Philadelphia, Delaware, Elizabethtown, and Mechanicsburg. I've interviewed a man who overcame homelessness and addiction and is now thriving thanks to an incredible nonprofit. I've documented an adult day program serving people with severe disabilities, interviewed inspiring college students with intellectual disabilities, and wrapped it all up by covering a healthcare event in Hershey.

Much like my days as a photojournalist, every shoot is different.

Every story matters.

That's one of the things I love most about this career.

Fifty-five.

Now that's a bigger number...and I reached it this spring, too!

Like many business owners, I sometimes wonder what the next year will look like. Or the next five. Or the next ten. Those questions become a little harder to answer with each passing year.

After thinking about it, though, I realized the answer is actually pretty simple.

As long as I'm healthy and my clients continue to trust me with their stories, I'll keep showing up with my cameras and do what I love for as long as I can.

Thank you to every client, friend, family member, colleague, and organization that has supported Minick Photography, LLC over the past 20 years. I never take that trust for granted, and I genuinely appreciate the opportunity to do what I love every day!

(The drone photo was captured during a shoot in North Philadelphia last week)

My second of three shoots for The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and their partner, Gettysburg College, brought me to the George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital in Gettysburg, where teachers experienced one of the battle's most significant medical sites.

I've spent a lot of time here over the years, and while I don't believe in ghosts or Civil War soldiers wandering the grounds, there's no denying the weight of what happened here. You can feel the history. Standing where nearly two thousand wounded soldiers were treated during the Battle of Gettysburg is a powerful reminder of the human cost of war. It's a place that leaves a lasting impression every time I visit.

Another great day photographing The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History 's Teacher Symposium at Gettysburg College. It's always inspiring to see teachers from around the country immersed in history, exploring everything from the Civil War to the Civil Rights Movement and much more on such a beautiful and historically significant campus.

What was all the hoopla on City Island?

Just a little friendly competition, lots of laughs, and a community coming together for many great causes. Congrats to The Foundation for Enhancing Communities on another successful event!

I had a blast photographing a miracle last week. Actually a lot of miracles during the Children's Miracle Network telethon reveal for Penn State Health Golisano Children's Hospital.
The fundraising total was announced live on TV, the balloons dropped, and all kinds of wonderful chaos broke loose. There's a lot of fun going on in this frame!

💙 Thank you for making miracles happen.

The 42nd annual Children's Miracle Network Hershey Telethon raised $321,497 to support equipment, programs and research at Penn State Health Golisano Children's Hospital.

Every dollar raised helps provide lifesaving care, specialized equipment and innovative treatments for children and families across our region.

Thank you to our donors, sponsors, volunteers, patient families and community partners for making this year's telethon a success. Together, you're helping give more children the gift of growing up.

Definitely one of the coolest shoots of the week! I had the opportunity to hang out and photograph the U.S. Navy Blue Angels on a stop at Penn State Health Golisano Children's Hospital and, even better, spend time with some truly incredible pediatric patients.
