well this was totally unexpected tonight. A SpaceX Falcon9 rocket carrying Starlink Group 6-53 launched from CCSFS LC40 at 6:40. I wasnt even planning on going to the launch - our friend Steve Matchett texted and asked if I was going to watch it. I said sure I 'll come take some pics. Got there with 5 minutes to spare before the launch. I noticed that moon was pretty high up in the sky, and thought "well maybe" and a few minutes later I was pleasantly surprised! no photopills, no flight club, just totally random luck! Pretty cool! - Thanks Steve for the invite!

Having fun trying to get that perfect alignment of the rising moon and the rocket with Kimberley. We thought we were in the right place, but when the moon started to peek above the horizon we saw that that was not the case - ran almost a quarter mile to try and get it lined up, but had to stop and get what we could. These are shot with a 400mm lens about 11miles away, and no, they are not composited. Enjoy!
