Have you ever met a dog who, despite a tragic start in life, still finds joy, love, and kindness? Manchee is one of those special souls.
For years, Manchee lived in a puppy mill, used only for breeding. When Kim, a first-time dog owner, decided to adopt, she chose Manchee—a name that fittingly means healer.
Adjusting to her new life wasn’t easy. Like many dogs from puppy mills, Manchee carried scars of mistrust and fear. But Kim, with her unwavering patience and love, has helped Manchee learn to trust and thrive.
Photographing them was a reminder of the resilience dogs have—their ability to trust again, even after unimaginable hardship. When you look into Manchee’s soulful eyes, it’s as if she’s quietly saying, Thank you for loving me.
This is why I love what I do—capturing moments like this that remind us of the healing power of love and kindness.
P.S. Manchee’s story, along with many other inspiring tales, is featured in my fundraising coffee table book celebrating rescue dogs and the families who love them. All proceeds support @bigdogrescueproject. There are still spots available. Head to my link in bio @stephanieblumphoto to apply
