Good morning, Moto Fam!! 🏁

My apologies for the photo delays! My laptop decided it no longer wanted to serve its purpose, so I wasn’t able to finish up the edits.

I’m officially back up and running and should have everything updated tonight, tomorrow at the latest! Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding!

Maybe it’s not about the photographer at all.

Maybe it’s about the person standing beside you in the dirt, holding a camera, chasing the same moments you are.

The ones who understand why we stand out here for hours. Why we walk through the dust. Why we miss dinner, lose sleep, and come home with thousands of images to sort through.

Because we love this sport.

We love the people in it.
We love the stories.
We love the moments that happen when nobody is looking.

And there are a lot of us telling those stories.

Different cameras. Different editing styles. Different eyes. Different ways of seeing the same night.

But there is room for all of us.

There is room to share a fence line.
Room to share an idea.
Room to tag another photographer.
Room to send someone their way when they’re looking for something you don’t shoot.
Room to celebrate someone else’s shot without wondering what it takes away from yours.

Because another photographer succeeding doesn’t make your work smaller.

It means more stories are being preserved.

And someday, long after the engines have quieted and the dust has settled, these photographs will be what people have left.

So let’s make sure there are plenty of us willing to keep telling the story.

Collaboration over competition.

THE PEOPLE WATCHING THE GATE

We spend a lot of time photographing the kid on the motorcycle.

The start.

The holeshot.

The battle.

The checkered flag.

But sometimes…

look the other way.

Look at Dad when that gate drops and his kid disappears into the first turn.

Look at Mom’s hands gripping the fence.

Look at the mechanic staring down the track, knowing exactly how fast things can go wrong.

Look at the little brother watching his hero disappear into the woods.

Look at the parent who stops looking at the track after a crash because sometimes you just can’t watch anymore.

And then watch that same face when the kid comes back around the final corner.

Three seconds.

Terror.

Relief.

Pride.

Three seconds that explain an entire motocross family.

Because the rider is the one taking the risk…

but they’re not the only ones racing.

There are people behind that fence whose hearts are going through every corner with them.

You don’t need to know what class they’re racing.

You don’t need to know who’s winning.

Hell, you don’t even need to understand motocross.

You just have to know what it’s like to love somebody enough that their pain scares you, their fear scares you, and seeing them come back to you makes everything else disappear.

Sometimes the best picture at the track isn’t the rider.

It’s the person watching the gate.
