My friend Lisa needs our help.
She was six days away from moving out of one of the worst living situations of her life and into a new beginning. Almost everything she owned was packed into the garage, ready to go.
Last night the house caught fire.
Lisa was ripped out of her sleep by the homeowner and escaped a fire she did not cause. But almost everything she owned, everything she had packed for that next chapter, was destroyed.
And heartbreakingly, her beloved dog Kujo passed away.
Lisa has been a teacher for more than 26 years. For more than half her life, she has shown up for other peopleβs children, given pieces of herself to her students, her friends, and the people around her. She has endured a string of circumstances that would have made a lot of people bitter, and somehow, Lisa has continued to find a way to be positive, to keep going, to believe something better was ahead.
Now, instead of unpacking boxes and finally exhaling, she is grieving Kujo, and trying to figure out how to rebuild a life when nearly everything she owned disappeared overnight.
She needs us.
Please donate if you are able. Even a small amount, multiplied by enough people, can become something enormous. If you cannot donate, please share this. Get her story in front of someone who can.
After 26 years of giving so much of herself to others, Lisa deserves to know that when everything falls apart, there are people willing to help her put the pieces back together.
