It’s Pretty Black and White What These Are
Back in Puget Sound for probably the last time this trip. Hasn’t been a bad hitch so far except for the no breaks part. We’ve been running nonstop so far which has helped pass the time. Back down to SF Bay sometime next week and then probably up to Portland to lay up.

Drive along the Sun Vally Highway long enough and you’ll find small towns that are more abandoned buildings than actual towns. Most, if not all are on private land, so shooting can be a bit of a hassle without a long lens or permission from the owner.

Shifting Sand
Bruneau Dunes SP is less than an hour from my home in Meridian so it’s a place I find myself going quite often when other campsites are full or I just don’t feel like dragging the trailer any further. Even now, in early June, the sands get absolutely scorching and all but the most prepared find themselves seeking shade until the sun is low enough to beat down on only one side of the dunes. A couple years ago I had to rescue my poor dog Annie when she tumbled off the top of one of the smaller dunes. She tried getting back up but ended up hiding in the Russian Olive groves that line the ponds near the base. I ran down after her thinking she was tired only to nearly suffer burns as I sprinted through the sand. After having a friend get some shoes for me, I put her over my shoulders and walked her out. This trip had no such mishap thankfully. My family and I will probably visit the dunes again sometime in the fall when the daily temps aren’t so extreme. @ Tag Responsibly, Keep Idaho Beautiful

Good morning from Bruneau Sand Dunes State Park! RV season is in full swing and Idaho is wide open. This is the ideal time to visit the sand dunes; it’s warm but not too hot and the mosquitos aren’t out yet.
