Witnessing this live was absolutely once in a lifetime.

As a photographer, I think one of the most important things I can do is keep expanding what I allow to influence me.

Not just other photography. Music. Film. Fashion. Architecture. Writing. Movement. Interiors. The way light falls across a room. The way a song makes you feel before you even understand why.

All of it changes the way I see.

It changes what I notice, what I’m drawn to, how I frame a moment, how I tell a story, and ultimately how I photograph people.

And beyond the work, I think there’s something important about continuing to expand as a human too. To keep being curious. To keep experiencing things that move you. To keep finding new ways of seeing.

Because the more life I take in, the more life I have to put back into the work.

As JM Creative has grown, I realized I wanted the brand surrounding the work to carry the same feeling as the work itself.

I wanted something feminine without being precious. Editorial without feeling sterile. Romantic, curious, nostalgic, a little unexpected, and full of life.

Really, I wanted it to feel like me.

I’ve always been a firm believer in romanticizing everything. I grew up on all the greats: Sleepless in Seattle, 13 Going on 30, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Fools Rush In.

I think some part of me has been chasing that feeling ever since. The angst and the wit and the whimsy. The femininity. The idea that ordinary life can still feel incredibly cinematic if you’re paying attention.

That same instinct finds its way into almost everything I create. My brain is constantly collecting things: colors, films, interiors, typefaces, photographs, stories, odd little details I can’t explain why I love.

And I think that’s what I wanted this next version of JM Creative to hold. Not just the photographs, but the whole world around them.

A huge thank you to HANN MADE DESIGNS for somehow taking all of my references, feelings, half-formed thoughts, screenshots, colors, and “I don’t know how to explain it but I’ll know it when I see it” and giving it all a visual language.
