HoldenHands Photography Hi! I'm Erin! I am a Maine, New Hampshire, New England-based wedding and lifestyle photographer who travels all over for the best people and the most fun.

I believe in sessions that are customized to you and what makes you you. Senior photos are such an exciting moment to capture, but that doesn't make other summer portrait sessions any less important. Papa and his family wanted to have a session done before his freshman year of college, capturing where he was before journeying off on his own beginnings of adulthood. We were able to find a beautiful night at Great Brook Farm State Park in Carlisle, Massachusetts, to celebrate all he had accomplished in his last year of high school and all the greatness he has before him. We all hope you are having the best time in college, Papa!

Today's Friday Favorite is not only the image, but the hard send that these two brought to their session. Kaitlin and Shane worked with me on Labor Day weekend to document their elopement, something that was a secret from many people until recently. First of all, I love that. This was something for just them. As we journeyed around, we got to an opening of space that allowed for some more movement. I told them to play tag, and they went full send on it. Kaitlin did an amazing job of using her dress to its fullest potential, and the images we created with this simple game were cinematic. If you want your photos to look like your life is a movie, commit to the movement. Be bold. Try it out. Pictures don't need to be boring; you just have to commit to the fun.

And just like that, it's Friday again. Here is my Friday Favorite of the week! This week's photo is from my trip out to Whidbey Island this past August. I took this photo standing on the Deception Pass bridge. The kayakers were paddling and spinning in the whirlpools that form when two different bodies of water collide. I love the color of the water and how the kayak colors pop against the darker backdrop. Looking at these photos makes me think it's time to plan another trip to a different national park!

If you have ever wanted to elope on a beach in Maine, Liz and Adam lived your dream. On the first of August, Liz and Adam got dressed in an AirBnB, gathered their closest friends and immediate family, and gathered to celebrate and start their new lives together on Pine Point Beach in Scarborough, Maine. The weather was quintessentially a New England summer morning, with the sun shining off from the waves. Adam drew a giant heart in the sand where the two of them would get married, and Liz got to have the longest sand aisle for her walk to the ceremony, greeted by so many people who were at the beach early that morning. The whole morning was heartfelt, personal, and full of love. I am so lucky to have been able to capture the morning for them!

Today's rain reminded me of how much I love cozy fall afternoons. If fall photos are your jam, I am totally with you. I currently have only two more weekend dates available for October. I cannot wait for all of the foliage colors, the crisp air, the giggles, and the adventures!

Happy Friday, everyone! Today's Friday Favorite is one from Christina and Isaac's wedding at Steele Hill Resort in Sanbornton, New Hampshire. Despite being a very cloudy day, there was just enough light to let in a little color and contrast for sunset. Christina grabbed Isaac and asked him to dance in the grace with the mountains in the background. This is my favorite for it was a spontaneous choice with the most perfect effect. They got a moment to themselves during the hustle of their wedding day. The colors and contrast added so much drama to the moment, and it really was the two of them wrapped up in the moment. If you are getting married in the future, be brave and do something spontaneous. It may be one of your core memories from the day!
