Crowned, "fifty minutes of gnarly, vicious extreme metal...," by Revolver Magazine, "an ever-shifting fusillade of extreme groove prog...," by Decibel Magazine, and, "unquestionably one of the angriest and heaviest albums of ANSELMO's career," by Exclaim!, Choosing Mental Illness As A Virtue is extreme, abrasive, aggressive, and anthemic.

*** Heads up, official statement from MY DYING BRIDE ****

MY DYING BRIDE - statement from singer Aaron Stainthorpe

Address previous concert cancellations; new album almost completed

After the cancellation of several concerts last year and fans being worried about the future of the band, MY DYING BRIDE's singer and lyricist Aaron Stainthorpe has released the following statement:

“Many of you have been wondering what has happened to the band since we cancelled all our shows back in late 2017. Well, here is the answer.

"In September 2017 my beautiful little daughter, just five years old, was diagnosed with cancer. This event devastated the whole family as well as close friends and of course all of MY DYING BRIDE and related colleagues. A black hole of worry and panic opened up before me and I was fearful of what was to come. The horror that surrounds this terrible disease is real and brutal and relentless.

"The highly destructive but very necessary poison that is chemotherapy was started and after a time, surgery removed the main tumor but it had spread. Early 2018 a second major operation was needed to finally get rid of the visible mass but cells were still in her body so radiotherapy took place to destroy these. The side-effects of both chemo and radio therapies left her a broken and sorry little thing and my heart was aching like never before. As the father of a deeply sick child, I was on the brink of total implosion.

"After the worst year of our lives, and stress beyond belief, we were gifted the news that so many other people never get; she is clear. She has beaten one of the cruelest of Gods bitter and loveless creations. Despite this positive outcome, there will be years of tests and potential complications which may result in many returns to hospital. I will fear for her every day for the rest of my life and hope that when I finally go to my grave she will be a strong and forthright woman.

"We really need to thank the wonderful people at the NHS Childrens Hospital in Leeds for everything they have done and also the wonderful Candlelighters, childrens cancer charity for their endless and loving support.

"The band took a small hiatus at the devastating news but gradually began to muster forces and start work on the next LP which we can happily tell you all, is well under way and in fact, is almost complete. I have not taken part in any writing as yet but will return to the fold this week, pen in hand and a new focus and eagerness to fulfil my role as wordsmith and vocalist for this remarkable band. We have returned!"

Congratulations to Bad Wolves -- Awesome achievement

Thursday August 16th, 2018, NEW YORK, NY – Bad Wolves have officially achieved platinum status for their intergenerational, global smash debut single, “Zombie.” The RIAA certification marks a major milestone for the band, making them the sole rock band to obtain a platinum certification for a 2018 release. The plaque was presented to Bad Wolves by their co-manager, Zoltan Bathory, Eleven Seven Label Group CEO Allen Kovac, and promoters Larry and Fred Frank of Frank Productions/Live Nation prior to their set at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ.

Bad Wolves vocalist Tommy Vext states, "We are deeply humbled and overwhelmed by the continued success of our rendition of “Zombie”. For many artists reaching platinum status in and of itself is a dream come true. But the greater story here is YOU.” All the fans on every single continent - without your passion and enthusiasm none of this would be possible.”

He continued, “This year the global rock community came together to support our efforts to turn a tragic loss into something hopeful. This resounding effect with music fans around the world for the better part of a year now is a strong testament of Dolores’ timeless song writing and the message of the song being as relevant today as it’s ever been. We are truly grateful”

“Without getting too far into tree-hugger territory, I believe there is a pattern to the Universe and there is a pattern to success. When I put on my ‘manager hat’ - that’s what I’m looking for, and that’s what I saw in Bad Wolves,” the band’s co-manager and Five Finger Death Punch founder Zoltan Bathory adds, “You have to have the right personas, the right songs, the right sound, the right work ethic, and endless determination.”

“Zombie is a timeless song that has now had global success twice. From a tragedy, a wonderful outcome. Thank you, Dolores O’Riordan.” says Eleven Seven Label Group CEO Allen Kovac, who managed The Cranberries during the original release of “Zombie”.

Bad Wolves released “Zombie” earlier this year as a tribute to the late The Cranberries frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan, who was set to record and reprise her iconic vocals on the track the day she tragically passed away. On June 19th, the band presented her kids with a $250,000 check, donating their proceeds from the massively successful and incredibly resonant track.

“Zombie" is not only a definitive moment for Bad Wolves — but it has also proven to be the breakout rock song (and story) of 2018.” The single has also previously reached platinum status in Canada and gold in Australia. To date, “Zombie’s official music video for the song has racked up over 165 million views via Facebook and YouTube. The track hit #1 on Spotify's viral chart in over 40 countries countries, went to #1 on the iTunes overall songs chart and iTunes rock and metal charts, and reigned atop the US Rock radio chart for three straight weeks. The unprecedented success of “Zombie” lead to Bad Wolves' debut album Disobey achieving the #22 spot on the Billboard Top 200, #2 on the Hard Rock Chart, #4 on Rock, and #8 on the Top Current Albums Chart.

Bad Wolves are currently on the road with Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, and Nothing More as part of the biggest U.S. summer amphitheater rock tour of 2018. The band will continue to tour extensively throughout the end of the year, including a trek across Europe with Three Days Grace this Fall, joining Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin and From Ashes to New on their U.S. Fall arena tour, and an arena tour through Canada this winter with Three Days Grace and Nothing More. Avenged Sevenfold √, Get better M. Shadows.

FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES & “END OF THE WORLD TOUR” CANCELLED.
JULY 20, 2018

There is no good way to start out a note containing bad news but here it is.

After Europe I came down with a terrible viral infection that rendered me voiceless.

I tried my best to take care of the situation with voice rest, medication and doctor visits but my voice was only getting worse.

After a week of steroids the swelling went down enough to see the cause of the problem. A blood blister has formed on my vocal folds and is preventing them from vibrating properly. In short, I can’t sing anything at the moment and the more I attempt to the more damage is being done. Luckily, as of now the doctors feel that 3 months of no singing and voice rest should get my chords back on track.

Unfortunately, this means we will have to cancel all tour dates at the moment.

Decisions like this weigh on me very heavily. It’s a tour I was looking forward to very much. I want to apologize to the fans who have spent their time and money booking travel arrangements and accommodations. I also want to apologize to our crew and the other bands who were depending on this tour.

None of these things are lost on me.

Just know that I have exhausted every possible solution in trying to get out there and perform for you. It just simply can’t happen at the moment.

We have a few things coming down the pipe soon that should be fun so we hope you look out for those.

Again, I am deeply sorry and hope to see you all soon.

In silence,
M
