Native to the cool mountain rainforests of New Guinea, the Dracula Parrot is famous for its stunning crimson-red and jet-black plumage, giving it a dramatic and unforgettable appearance.
Unlike most parrots, these birds feed mainly on figs and other soft fruits, helping spread seeds throughout the forest and supporting healthy ecosystems.
They spend much of their time perched high in the forest canopy and are powerful, fast fliers that travel between fruiting trees.
