Rachel booked the one room at The Ben whose window looked straight down onto the Flagler Museum, her venue for the day. We spent the morning there before anyone else arrived, working through the quiet details in that window light: the rings, the invitation suite, the shoes, the dress hung where the light was best. By the time she stepped into the gown, the ceremony site was already sitting in the background of every frame. That is the kind of morning I love to document, unhurried and honest, with the day she dreamed of visible just below. Hi, I’m Jessica.

Some of you have been here since the beginning. Some of you found me last week. Either way, I’m glad you’re here.

The short(er) version: I was supposed to be in finance. Big corporate, boss lady, the whole plan. Then God had other plans, and somewhere between raising my son and a few crazy detours I’ll tell you about someday, I picked up a camera.

I photographed a wedding photographer for a Mother’s Day mini session back in 2015 I believe. He actually offered to mentor me when I brought up that weddings sounded like something I’d probably would enjoy doing. It took me a full year to work up the courage to say yes. When I finally did, he taught me the Karate Kid way (from the 80’s). Wax on, wax off. And yes, I’m from the 1900’s. Lighting before I ever touched a camera. Assisting before I ever pressed a shutter. A year and a half later, he told me I was ready.

I shot my first wedding on my own in 2018. And I started the way most of us do. Reception halls, small weddings, saying yes to everything. Over a hundred weddings later, I now find myself in rooms where the decor and details lead the way. Lush florals. Invitations, menus, and name cards curated down to the letter. Signage made to be photographed. The personals, your shoes, your second dress waiting for hora loca and the after party.

And I still get the same rush. The pace of the day. The bride’s giddiness right before she walks down that aisle. The quiet moments nobody plans and the editorial ones we do.

My style lives somewhere between documentary and timeless. In the moment, but elevated. I believe Miami weddings are some of the most beautiful in the world, and I get to photograph them.

Off camera: born and raised in Miami. Christian. Mom of two, a 21 year old son and an almost 13 year old daughter I homeschool. I quilt. I’m three years into building a butterfly garden in my backyard and I’ve been married for 17 years.

And to everyone who has hired me, encouraged me, referred me, or simply cheered from the sidelines. You built this with me. Thank you.

Rachel and Andrew, Flagler Museum edition.

The morning started in the empty atrium, all marble and quiet, the Tiffany & Co. clock sitting at the top of the room like it was waiting too. Vows happened right under it. Then the grand entrance into the reception, and by nightfall the ballroom was lit almost entirely by candles, which is where the first dance lived. We photographed it exactly the way it actually happened, in order.

My approach is fine art portraiture woven through honest documentary storytelling. That means I set up the frames that deserve to be set up, then step back and let the real day unfold so you are present in it, not performing for it.

Katie and Kyle, film edition.

Sessions like this are my favorite kind. No big production, no big crew, just the two of you being exactly who you are together. A little time to get to know each other, get a feel for what it’s actually like being in front of my camera, and mostly just time to have fun. That’s really the whole point. I want to catch the little things, the inside jokes, the way you look at each other when you think no one’s watching. Nothing performed, nothing for a bigger audience. Just your love. Period.

We have never had more access to information than we do right now.

And somehow, that has made deciding harder.

You open Instagram and there are thousands of wedding photographers. All talented. All with beautiful websites. All with five-star reviews and styled shoots and highlight reels that look like magazine spreads.

So how do you choose?

Here’s what I tell every bride who asks me that:

Stop scrolling at some point. Pick three to five people whose work genuinely moves you not just impresses you, moves you. Then go deeper. Read how they write. Watch how they talk about their couples. Notice how it feels to be in their presence, even through a screen.

Because at this level, the work is good across the board. What isn’t interchangeable is the person.

The photographer who will be standing next to you while you put on your dress, who will be the last face you see before you walk down the aisle, who will sit across from you at a consultation and already feel like someone you’ve known — that’s not a decision you make with a spreadsheet.

You make it with your gut.

This industry has so many talented people in it. I mean that genuinely.

But you’re not looking for the best photographer in South Florida. You’re looking for your photographer.

Those are two very different searches.

Samantha + Daniel.

Engagement sessions open a door. The vulnerability of being seen, of letting someone witness who you actually are with each other, not just how you want to appear. That is where the real work begins, and where the real images come from.

I have been loving the couples who come in for the full experience. Engagement session, bridal shower, welcome dinner, wedding day. Every time we meet, I get to know you a little deeper. And that shows up in the images.

But with Samantha and Daniel, the story keeps going. Now I get to come back and meet them as they step into an entirely new chapter, welcoming their little one very soon.

That is the goal. To not just be your wedding photographer, but to be present for the moments that make up your whole story. The deeper the connection, the deeper the feeling in every frame. That is exactly what I am here for.

Give me ALL the colors.

Aarti’s sangeet lehenga was something else entirely. The emerald green, the fuchsia, the gold zari work, the way it moved when she spun... there is no filter in the world that could make this more beautiful than it already was. It did all the talking.

And the lehenga just added to what was already there. Aarti is stunning, full stop.

The henna, the bangles, the potli bag, the ring sitting perfectly against all of that embroidery... every single detail was intentional and every single detail deserved its own frame.

Aarti and Dean, your wedding weekend was a gift to photograph. 🤍

Nothing says Miami louder than a ventanita stop at Versailles, a colada, croquetas, Ball and Chain shenanigans, and Calle Ocho as your backdrop.

George and Alex are truly the IT Miami couple, and if you know, you know. George is the one and only Mr. Eats Miami (.eats305 ), which means he basically wrote the map on where to go in this city. So who better to photograph all over it?

And Alex... she is just stunning. Inside and out, from every angle, in every frame.

I met these two through this app and I am so glad I did. This is exactly the kind of session that feels less like a shoot and more like a really good day in your city with people you genuinely like.

We went to MIKA in the Gables. It doesn’t feel like a restaurant. It feels like a friend’s home on the coast: warm, a little moody, all velvet and soft light. The perfect spot for these two.

And because they felt at home, the real them came out. The laughing, the inside jokes, the way she leans into him like they’ve got their own little world. That’s the whole point of doing this in person. The walls come down and you just get them.

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know the weddings.

But here’s a little more of the rest.

My mornings start slow and I protect that. Gym, Bible and Protein Shake before anything else. My Great Pyrenees on the floor taking up more space than she needs to. Sometimes I’m in the garden before the day fully starts, hands in the soil, no phone, no agenda.

My friends are the kind of people who show up with food and stay for hours. We’ve known each other long enough to skip the small talk. These are the same people who remind me why I do what I do, because I’ve watched them build lives, get married, become parents, and I understand now more than ever that the moments in between are the ones that matter.

I’ve recently gotten into sewing. Badly. But I love it and I am determined.

I tell you all of this because I think it matters.

When you book me for your wedding, you’re not hiring a camera operator. You’re inviting someone into one of the most personal days of your life. I think you deserve to know who that person actually is.

I love what I do. I love my people. I love slow mornings and growing things and making things with my hands.

And I will bring every bit of that presence to your wedding day.
