On her 5th birthday, our sweet Summer woke up and couldn’t move. One moment she was the happy, playful little girl we know and love, and the next, our world was turned upside down.
What we thought was just back pain quickly became every pet parent’s worst nightmare. After two veterinary visits, an emergency hospital stay, and a consultation with a veterinary neurosurgeon, Summer was diagnosed with Granulomatous Meningoencephalitis (GME)—a rare, life-threatening inflammatory disease that affects the brain and spinal cord.
Watching her lose the ability to walk has been heartbreaking, but Summer is a fighter. After her very first chemotherapy treatment, she has already shown encouraging signs of improvement. Her doctors are hopeful, and so are we. We are praying that with continued chemotherapy, medications, and rehabilitation, she’ll be able to walk, run, and enjoy life again.
The emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming. Between emergency visits, hospitalization, MRI scans, specialist care, medications, and ongoing chemotherapy, the veterinary expenses continue to grow.
We are asking for your help to give Summer the best chance at recovery. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward her medical care. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Summer’s story would mean just as much.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support during this incredibly difficult time. We believe in our brave little girl, and we’re holding onto hope that she’ll be back on all four paws soon. ❤️
