The first 48 hours pass in a fog. The photos give them back.

The hospital bracelet. The messy hair. The tired face that was really love all along. That was me, holding my baby girl, Alma... and years later, the fog lifts every time I open that gallery.

One quiet hour, in the real light of the room. No posing. No perfection.

Crazy to think that I met this little boy's mom (more on her later) when he was just a baby. I didnt know anything about babies or toddlers or the difference in sizes. She was my first placement. I bought her a present (for her baby) and it was a 2T. I think he was under 1 years old.

But I loved her the moment I spoke to her on the phone. I loved her even more when. We met. I said to myself - we're going to be friends.

So much has happened since the time we met and we always have to catch up.

But today I saw and was honored to photograph this boy, who was a baby LIKE YESTERDAY, graduate 5th grade!

I cried.

And then, drumroll to my friend, the principal shared such beautiful words about this amazing person. She went on to describe everything SHE IS. I KNEW it would her.

And then. I ugly cried.

I love you Lydia!

Congrats 5th grade!

And a special congrats M! I KNOW you have the best parents behind you. Off to MIDDLE!
