Can’t be simpler (or more complex than the olive tapenade) to have a pair with fresh olive tapanade on Zaks rye for a great Saturday start. It was raining all morning so I decided to brighten my day with some sunny side up.

Everyone in my small circle of friends knows what this means. It’s gravlax time. This is the time of year when Salmon is very fresh and plentiful and I’ll have my batch ready by the weekend. Anyone in the know understands the BELLY meat comes off first and savored for its uncious decadence.

Sometimes simplicity is the strongest element of a clean compelling food photograph. Hundreds of images captured for the Pinecrest Bakery.

Sometimes complete simplicity can be the most appealing factor of a good photograph.

Mid August 2016 was a fine road trip. Utah had five national parks that kept me there. Even the visions inbetween each park visit were a graphic reminder of the beauty that surrounds us all the time. .

Seems exactly one year ago today this was a treat I entitled myself to on a Friday afternoon. Croissant from the Bettant French bakery at 11th and Washington on South Beach. They also make the finest baguettes. I remember driving along Alton Road and cutting back over the Causeway to Biscayne and I made it to 79th St. where Marky’s has the best shop for caviar. Salmon caviar in June and July is most flavorful and especially if it’s from wild caught salmon in Alaska. Have a great weekend and let’s see what kind of a new toupee the big Cheeto will wear next week. Trying not to be political, but someone has to stand up and save our National Parks from being sold out to lumber and mineral oil companies. I’ve been to 18 National Parks and they are truly an American treasure. I have fished for Salmon in Alaskan rivers and made snow angels at Mt. McKinley base station landing strip. I could only say these things happen to demonstrate how blessed we are when we venture out. .
