I don’t really feel like I fit in my skin lately. I can’t get my clothes to look right, or my hair to do what I want it to do. My makeup feels like it’s all the wrong shade and I’m questioning why I even bought those thrifted snakeskin booties (that have been sitting on my shoe rack for months) in the first place! The beautiful thing about this, though, is that a new season is ahead of us and all the unfittingness of this season is simply making room for something greater in the next. We can’t expect to be “just so” or “just right” all the time. Imagine if the weather was “just right” all the time with the sun shining and perfectly warm 78° days. The flowers and grass would wither away, the birds and the frogs would quiet and the world would be a lot less beautiful. You don’t have to love the rain but you do have to respect it. I don’t have much else to say and no one reads these things anyway but if you do happen to read this, please know that you’re allowed to dance in the rain. You’re allowed to celebrate yourself and your body even if you’re not 100% happy with it because… can I tell you a secret? No one is.
