When this family arrived, the kids weren’t quite sure about getting into the water. We got the portraits out of the way and let them warm up at their own pace. Before long, they were splashing, laughing, and having the best time—and by the end of the session, we couldn’t get them out of the water!

This is one of the many reasons I love river sessions. The kids get to play, explore, and just be themselves, which always leads to genuine smiles and memories that feel like summer. And with a baby and three older siblings, there was no shortage of sweet moments and laughter.

River sessions are available all summer long and are perfect for families who want a relaxed, playful experience that doesn’t feel like traditional family photos.

One of my favorite things about in-home newborn sessions is how personal they feel 🤍 From snuggles in the nursery to including beloved family pets, these sessions tell the story of this season exactly as it is. Their two sweet dogs were so gentle and curious with their newest family member, and I love how naturally everything came together.
Some families choose to keep things simple like this session — focusing on baby in your arms, cozy moments together, and maybe a simple basket pose. Others choose to upgrade their session to include more posed newborn portraits where I bring baskets, buckets, and styling right to your home. Either way, the goal is always the same: creating beautiful images that feel like you.

The light, the dress, the softness of this entire session… everything felt so ethereal and beautiful. 🤍
Mom looked absolutely stunning, and their sweet girl completely stole the show. They came prepared with friends and family ready to help get smiles and attention for photos, but honestly…this sweet girl didn’t need any convincing at all. She was pure joy from the start and gave us the best smiles all on her own.
I already know this little one is going to be the very best big sister. 🤍

This session was the perfect mix of cozy and colorful, and I loved getting to use both my new light wall setup and traditional studio lighting throughout the album ✨

The mommy & me portion with the light wall felt so soft, warm, and intimate, while the cake smash side brought in such a fun pop of color and personality. I’m always drawn to galleries with a lot of variety.

I love having the ability to completely change the feel of a session within the same studio space, and I can already tell these setups are going to become favorites this year 🤍

River minis are always such a fun change of pace. The kids have space to explore, throw rocks, splash around, and just be themselves which always makes for the sweetest moments. I also couldn’t believe we somehow had the whole place completely to ourselves that evening!

And can we talk about these colors?! The rust orange paired with the soft greens and creams is such a gorgeous combination and one that works beautifully no matter the season.

There’s a reason I never get tired of shooting at Maymont — every corner feels completely different. From gardens and stone pathways to open fields and hidden little spots, it gives so much variety for senior sessions without ever feeling repetitive.

Funny enough, I photographed three seniors there the week of this session, and every single one had its own vibe and personality. I love getting to use the same location in completely different ways depending on the senior and the season. ✨

This sweet girl was the definition of relaxed 🤍

She slept through the entire session, stayed so squishy and content, and let us move through every setup without a peep. We captured so many cozy moments around their home, and I always love when families include their dog in these sessions too.

The soft textures, tiny sleepy stretches, and all the snuggles made this one so fun to photograph.

In-home newborn sessions always have a slower, more personal feel, and I love capturing families settling into this brand new season together.

And getting to meet this adorable couple made it even better. Loved getting to capture this exciting season before they welcome their little one.

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately working through galleries from so many sessions—from maternity to newborns—trying to get as many photos finished as possible in time for Mother’s Day 💛 It’s been such a busy season in the best way.

And now I can’t wait to meet their little one for their newborn session soon 🥰

This greenhouse ended up being even more perfect than I imagined for these minis 🪴

I first met this sweet mom during a headshot session for her work, and getting to see things come full circle by photographing her beautiful family is one of my favorite parts of this job. I love getting to walk alongside families through different seasons of life and preserve these moments as their story keeps growing.

It was so fun celebrating the moms during these sessions and making sure they had photos in the frame this Mother’s Day. The hugs, giggles, tiny hand holds, and all the in-between moments were such a joy to capture.

And this greenhouse… I already know I’m going to have to offer more minis here this summer because the kids absolutely loved it 😍
