Michel Poulin - Photographer

Michel Poulin - Photographer Portrait, Event, and High Art Photography. I started my journey as a photographer in the early 80's with my father’s Polaroid Land Camera. D. Keats and Mr. J.

In ’88 I purchased a Pentax K1000 and under the tutelage of Mrs. Arts I developed my photographic “eye”. Many hours were spent in dark rooms, among the chemicals and paper, learning my art. In 1990 I was hired to photograph a wedding and thus my life as a professional photographer began. Twenty years later I traded the darkroom for Photoshop and rolls of film with memory sticks. Besides weddings a

nd portraits, my work has been published on such sites as breathecast.com, and provided to the PR firm Ogilvy & Mather. I particularly enjoy High Art shoots, especially when the model gets involved with the creative process (Thank you Hannah), but My interests also cover Wildlife, Landscape, Automotive, Race, Events, Candid, and of course, portraits. I am always up for a challenge and appreciate when a subject pushes me out of my comfort zone to make better art.

Quick update for everyone following along:

I’m making a few practical adjustments to how I handle collaborative trade (TFP) work moving forward.

First, a reality check on overhead: lab and material costs have jumped. Because of that, physical print prices for portfolio orders are increasing to cover those baseline expenses. The good news? High-res digital downloads from our sessions are staying completely free. If you just need the files for social media or your digital archive, that side of the equation isn't changing.

Second, a necessary guardrail on my calendar. Time is a finite resource, so I am tightening the circle on TFP work. Moving forward, I am no longer accepting cold, random TFP requests from the general public.

Trade sessions will be strictly limited to:

Models and muses I already have an established, ongoing creative history with.

Active members of the "Cincinnati and Dayton TFP" Facebook group.

If you’re outside those circles but have a specific technical or creative concept you want to bring to life, my door is always open to discuss booking a standard client session.

Appreciate everyone I've collaborated with so far. See you on the other side of the glass.

Over the holidays I will be redoing the menu on my site. All of the customer deliverable galleries will be under the galleries menu, all of the prints for sale will be under store, and all of the samples and models with be under portfolio.

At the same time, private customer deliverable galleries will change from joint password to account based security.

Public customer galleries (Charity work) will remain public.

Any one else with an FB business site get the Meta Insights app and end up With all kinds of erroneous notifications?

I am super embarrassed. I just found a second customer gallery with unpublished edits that had been stuck in limbo for a little over a year. Seems somewhere between a recent upgrade for Lightroom and the Smugmug plugin that followed, I'm able to find the unpublished updates.

Please, if you are waiting on adjustments to select images, please let me know and I'll check the status.
