💜 **Finding Their Voice | Tween Empowerment Project** 💜
We had such an amazing Tween Empowerment session yesterday! Every time we get together, I’m reminded that this project is about so much more than the photographs - it’s about giving these girls a safe place to learn, grow, connect, and discover just how strong they already are.
This session focused on **Finding Your Voice** and understanding that having a voice doesn’t always mean speaking loudly.
Having a voice can mean asking for help when you need it. Saying no when something doesn’t feel right. Expressing your feelings. Setting boundaries. Standing up for someone else. Asking questions. And sometimes, using your voice means knowing when to walk away and find a trusted adult.
We talked through realistic situations the girls may encounter at school, with friends, in group chats, and in everyday life. We also explored the difference between being **passive, aggressive, and assertive** and how we can communicate what we need while still respecting ourselves and others.
We had planned to practice some of these skills, but then our photo session took over—and I’m not even a little sorry about it! 😂 The photography portion became its own kind of empowerment experience.
The girls had SO much fun choosing props, dressing up, showing off their personalities, helping one another get ready, and coming up with ideas for each other. There was laughter, encouragement, creativity, and so much personality in that studio!
One of my favorite parts of this entire project has been watching the relationships between these girls grow. Seeing them help one another, cheer each other on, laugh together, and become more comfortable just being themselves has been incredibly special.
We ran out of time before we could finish our lesson, so **Finding Your Voice will continue at our next session.** And really, I think that is pretty fitting - because finding your voice isn't something you learn in one afternoon. It's something you continue to discover as you grow. 💜
Here are a few photos from yesterday's session. 📸 These girls are simply amazing.
And to their parents and families - **thank you.** Thank you for trusting me with your girls and for believing in and supporting this program. Watching them encourage one another, learn new skills, discover their strengths, and grow in confidence continues to mean more to me than I can adequately put into words.
This is exactly why the **Tween Empowerment Project** exists. 💜
