We were driving into West Yellowstone at sunrise and decided to stop to photograph the steam rising off the Madison on this 27° morning.
Then my girlfriend noticed a deer coming into the meadow! Great!
Then I noticed all the cars pulled over on the road ahead…. Hmmm, what could they… OH!!! A bull Bison had crossed the Madison, and was headed my way!!! I ran ahead to get in line with him on his level, and managed this shot of him, frost covered and steaming from having crossed the river. Yellowstone is a truly magical place…
