⚠️ Hot & Humid Leads to Severe Storms Today into Tonight ⚠️
We are tracking a dual threat today across northern and eastern Maine: hot, humid conditions followed by the potential for severe thunderstorms.
🌩️ Severe Storm Threat:
An Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) for severe thunderstorms is in place for our area today. Multiple rounds of storms are possible.
Timing: The greatest chance for severe weather will be late this afternoon into tonight, particularly around sunset through midnight.
Threats: Damaging to Destructive winds are the primary threat from this afternoon through tonight, which could lead to power outages. Large hail is possible late this afternoon into the early evening, and there is a risk for isolated tornadoes late this afternoon.
🌡️ Heat & Humidity:
It will be a hot and muggy day! High temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s. Combined with the humidity, it will feel even hotter. The highest heat indices will be over southern Piscataquis County and the Bangor region. Heat Advisory for Central & Southern Penobscot County and Southern Piscataquis County 11AM - 8PM today.
Dover-Foxcroft: Feels like 100°F
Bangor: Feels like 97°F
