Nature has a quiet way of reminding us of what truly matters. Make time for a sunrise or sunset this week. Stand still, breathe deeply, and let the world slow down for a while. You won't regret it.

A couple of Assateague Island's brute stallions sizing each other up.

An Assateague horse (also called a Chincoteague pony) is a small, hardy breed that typically weighs 700–900 pounds in the feral state.

These stallions are a great reminder why giving them space matters. While the legal minimum is 40 feet, I can tell you from personal experience that they can close that distance in a split second.

Give them room to be wild, and you'll be rewarded with moments like this.

Stay safe, respect the wildlife, and enjoy the show.

Ps. Stay weather-aware today! It will be humid with storms possible, so if you’re heading outside, boating, fishing, photographing, or working outdoors, keep an eye on the sky and have a backup plan. Strong thunderstorms can bring heavy downpours, gusty winds, and rapidly changing conditions.

Family is everything.

On a quiet gray morning, with the Atlantic whispering against the shore, nothing else mattered but a mother's watchful eye and the little one at her side.

I dedicate this photograph to my beautiful wife, Jackie, and our son, Owen. Watching our son grow has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Moments like these remind me that there is no greater gift than family.

It will be a smoky and rainy morning across Delmarva. Stay safe, be kind to one another, and hold your loved ones a little closer today.

Some mornings on Assateague feel like a dream.

The wild horses wandered the shoreline beneath soft pastel skies, completely at peace as the waves rolled in. It was a reminder that the most beautiful moments are often the quietest.

Not long after, wildfire smoke drifted in and changed the horizon, making this peaceful morning feel even more fleeting.

Cherish the calm. Protect the wild. Never take these moments for granted.

Some mornings, Assateague doesn't wake up... it blushes.

The sky traded blue for watercolor as the first light spilled across the bay, turning the boat ramp into a path leading straight into the sunrise. No filters. No crowds. Just pinks, pastels, and the kind of silence that reminds you how small you are in the best possible way.

This is why I chase dawn. 🌅

Cheers to a blessed day. Keep in mind that air quality will be noticeably reduced over the next couple of days as smoke from the Canadian wildfire's drifts across our region.
