Three of my favorite things to capture - an in-home family session, intimate elopement, and a backyard wedding 🥹 this one was even more special as I got to officiate the wedding between my cousin and her one true love, and help her announce the newest heartbeat ❤️ I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to get back to work doing what I love after a long maternity leave! 🥰

It’s been a little while 🫣

This last year has been a whirlwind. Finding out I was pregnant in January, being fully pregnant in the heat of the summer, giving birth 3 weeks early, and being stuck in the Nicu for three weeks with a babe who needs a little extra help!

But we are now home, settled, and sweet girl has reached 8 weeks old! I’m feeling more ready than ever to get back out and take some photos 🥰

Fall is here (for a short period of time!) and I have open weekend availability. Would love to take your fam photos and help you get those Christmas cards ready to go! ❤️

Took a lil road trip to Galena to capture Annabel and her incredible horse, Clover! I’ve never had the chance to photograph horses before so this was exciting and so fun! They have such big personalities 😍

Driving through Galena is always such a joy. Jon and I stopped at Thunder Bay Falls for a picnic and then stopped at Long Hallow Scenic Overlook to fly the drone and look at the cows! 🐮

I will never say no to an adventure ☀️

Capturing motherhood has a whole new meaning now that I’m entering this phase myself 🥹 getting to watch my own little human grow within me, and noticing all the little changes that come with it is nothing short of incredible. It is wild how much your worldview changes once you enter motherhood, and I know it will change all over again once we get to meet our sweet babe in a few short months 🥰

Getting to watch Maddie become a mom has been such an inspiration and I’m so lucky I got to capture the beginning of that journey for her! Who knew this would mean so much more to me just a handful of months later?!

I’m in my reminiscing era … can you tell from this weeks posts? 👀😂

I’ve been going back through all my external hard drives and all my favorite, older sessions and I’m just 🥹🥹 this photography journey has been a wild one. Figuring out what I’m passionate about capturing, pivoting, quitting, getting back into it, changing my editing style a billion times. I think a photographer is something I will always be, even in slow seasons. ❤️

I’m here to capture real life - not inauthentic, awkwardly posed photos. I want to run around in a field of flowers, lay on a picnic blanket in the middle of a large expanse of land, climb rocks to get the best view, and capture you and your family doing what you do best - being yourselves.

While I will always offer guidance on what to do, (I know, you’re awkward. We all are 😂) I will always promote candid photo sessions.

Lowkey missing the Covid trend of intimate backyard weddings 🥹 when people were too eager and excited to marry the love of their life to wait until restrictions passed to have the big wedding of their dreams.

I love that I got to be a part of this trend in some way, and capture that excitement and love, regardless of what was going on in the world around us.

I will always love and advocate for small, intimate weddings and elopements. Spending the day with those who are closest to you, and truly know you. Even if that’s just you and your love, or you and your close family and friends. Nothing beats the intimacy and closeness of a small wedding ❤️
