As the Holiday Weekend approaches, please check out my good friend RailDog’s video on the CPKC 250th Anniversary Locomotives! These are beautiful locomotives and he captured their runs through the Milwaukee area wonderfully. He does amazing work with the drone and is a true inspiration for me and my photography. CP 7544 in fresh CPKC paint leads train 149 west through Wauwatosa, WI at my go-to-spot. 6/23/26

CP 8898 provides mid-train DPU service on train 149, climbing up the grade in Wauwatosa. This side profile photo is the first time I really noticed how steep it is here, given that the drone auto-stabilizes with no tilt. It’s certainly notable and it makes sense why they’re cranked up through here!

CN 3972 and another ex-CitiRail engine lead a northbound freight approaching Waukesha, WI on 6/23/26. Despite being backlit, this ground angle suffices well and supplements the areal drone shot previously posted.

This ex-CitiRail duo of motors leads a long CN freight over Pebble Brook approaching Waukesha, WI on 6/23/26. I am thrilled with this angle and shot, I can’t wait to come again for more prime morning lighting.
