She had NO idea. He had their closest people drive 6+ hours from St. Louis to quietly watch him get down on one knee from inside her parents’ home, while she thought this was just a regular visit. After he popped the question, the door slid open and everyone spilled out to celebrate. Afterward came all the best parts — learning about the planning spreadsheet, the multiple times someone almost gave it away, and of course, the moment he decided he needed a photographer to catch it all. This is why I love surprise proposals. The joy hits different when it’s this well-earned 🤍
