Didn’t expect the rig to get this much attention 😂 Filming at International Jazz Day with Milwaukee Jazz Institute.. probably a dozen people commented on my Easyrig Minimax. Most people think it would stabilize the camera but it really just takes the weight off. Fun night documenting!! Thanks !

Show some love if you’re proud to have in your neighborhood!

Today, Nonfiction serves natural wine, and also serves as a place to gather with friends, a place that feels like their own. People from out of town notice its unique vibe, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel even featured a wine enthusiast who named Brad and Allie’s creation as one of America’s best wine shops. The music, design, and company keep you coming back.

“People wanted more, and we didn’t have the space.” - Allie Kruse

As Allie and Brad grew in their small location on Potter Ave., it was clear that the community wanted to not only buy the wine but also drink it. The two knew that it was time for a larger space that would allow not only for a sizable natural wine selection, but also a place to enjoy with friends. And in this transition, Brad hand-crafted the tables and chairs, shelving, and even the smaller details that most would not notice, to create a unique space that everyone would value.

In our time living in Bayview, we’ve celebrated the small moments at Nonfiction and even larger, more meaningful events like an engagement celebration with family. It’s a spot we love to come back to time and time again, and the space itself deserves a spotlight.

“If we don’t do it, someone else is going to do it.”

When Brad and Allie Kruse opened Nonfiction Natural Wines in October 2019, they had experience with natural wine, a 500-square-foot space, and the drive to build something great. Their original location offered bottles of natural wine for the Bay View community in Milwaukee, and over time, it grew into a neighborhood staple. Stay tuned as we follow their journey.

We were fortunate to live above Nonfiction’s original location and fell in love with the space and, of course, natural wine. In our Milwaukee Stories mini doc series, we’re excited to share with you our debut, featuring a couple that brought natural wine to the Milwaukee scene.

Over the past 10 years I’ve gotten to do some pretty cool work. I’ve done a lot of different things website design, photography, graphic design, building trumpetwarmup.com, playing gigs, video editing…

This past year though I decided to focus up and really dial in on video production. Turning down jobs that don’t fit, investing in new gear, and trying to get better at my craft every day.
I’m starting to get more projects that actually line up with what I’m passionate about, which is exciting.

Still want to keep music a big part of my life too… ideally building toward something that’s half music, half video.

Maybe things are finally starting to come together?! What do you think?
Let’s see where 2026 goes. I’m gonna keep working hard and see what happens

I created this video with the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) team from their statewide housing conference last November… really proud of how this one came together.

Got the call for the project less than two weeks out, so needless to say it was a quick turnaround on prep… but we made it happen.

Rented gear, brought on a second shooter (Finn Hartnett), and prepped to cover a full day at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in ... we captured a keynote/podcast session, 5–6 interviews including the executive director, and a ton of B-roll.

One of those long days… 6:30am start, fully locked in the whole time… but everything came together really well.

What I liked most about this one wasn’t just filming the event, it was trying to shape a story out of it. Mixing interviews with real moments from the day… making it feel like someone watching would actually want to check out the conference next year.

Honestly didn’t expect to be that interested in a housing conference, but I found myself wishing I could just sit and listen.

Definitely want to keep doing more projects like this.

Working on a music video / live performance project in Steve Hamilton’s awesome studio. Being a musician myself probably gives me a bit of a different perspective when I’m behind the camera working with musicians.

I’ve really enjoyed getting back to working more closely with musicians toward the end of last year and into this year.

If you’re a musician with a project in mind, especially in Milwaukee or Chicago, feel free to reach out!

Dug this one up from 2018… one of the first real client videos I made after starting Noof Designs.

I was expecting to cringe watching it back, but honestly… it holds up decently!

I remember the client wanted to redo her voiceover a lot. It was one of those early gigs where I hadn’t figured out contracts or how to set expectations yet. By the end, that project rate didn’t feel so great 😂 oh well.. live and learn! 🤷‍♂️

Also we definitely weren’t supposed to be filming in Whole Foods… we ran in, grabbed what we needed in under 5 minutes, and somehow didn’t get kicked out. Glad we got the shots.

Wild seeing Feel Good Foods on grocery store shelves still today.
