This weekend, I had the honor of photographing my brother Kieron and his wife Carissa’s wedding! They love all things vintage and this was perfectly reflected throughout the day.

The day began with immediate family taking a ride on a 1908 streetcar with the East Troy Railroad. Once we arrived at our destination, Kieron and Carissa exchanged vows during an intimate ceremony held right on the streetcar followed by appetizers and drinks in a local park.

The celebration continued later at my parents’ home, where extended family and friends spent the evening dancing and singing to a 1950-1960s cover band called Brett and The Dandys, playing lawn games including hammerschlagen, and catching up.

The amount of time and detail that went into the day was incredible- from wedding invite postage stamps of jukeboxes and their favorite animal (squirrels 😂), to the tie Kieron wore that Carissa knitted herself, it was such a beautiful day that reflected their relationship in so many unique ways.

To Kieron and Carissa- I love you both so much and I wish you a lifetime of happiness! And to Carissa, I say welcome to our chaotic family 😂

As a photographer, one of the biggest worries I hear from parents is: “What if my kids don’t behave during our session?” And honestly… I recently had those same thoughts for my own family photos wondering how my toddler and newborn would do 😅🫠

But the truth is, kids don’t need to sit perfectly still or smile on command for beautiful photos to happen. I keep sessions relaxed and fun so there’s room for play, snuggles, and real connection — and those are usually the moments families end up loving most ✨
