Lots of galleries went out today! 🤎 I’m FINALLY somewhat getting caught up… haha!

I still have about 7 galleries hanging out in my editing queue, so if you didn’t get yours today, I promise it’s coming soon! Busy season is officially upon us, so just a little reminder that gallery delivery can take up to 4 weeks. Of course, I always try my best to get them back to you much quicker than that, but I have this tiny little flaw where I’m a complete perfectionist. 😂 I will stare at an image way longer than any normal person probably should because I want every gallery I send out to be something I’m proud of and something YOU love.

So thank you, truly, for your patience with me during the busy months. I promise your memories are being handled with so much care, and they’re worth the wait. 🤎

While we’re talking about busy season… FALL IS FILLING UP FAST! 🍂 Fall family sessions are booking, and my fall senior availability is filling up right along with them. If you’ve been thinking about grabbing a spot, it’s definitely better to purchase sooner rather than later. Once my calendar is full, I’ll be closing those booking links for the season.

AND… Christmas Stories are coming soon! 🎄 I’m still scouting and narrowing down locations, but these will all be outdoors with a very simple, natural feel and minimal props — and some may have no props at all. I really want these to feel like your family at Christmas rather than a big Christmas set. One idea I’m playing with is a downtown family story with all the pretty Christmas lights for something a little different, and I’m kind of loving that idea! ✨ More details and booking links will be posted soon!

One more little thing… 👀

If you’re a returning client, keep an eye on your messages this week. I’ll be sending you a little something as a thank-you for continuing to trust me with your memories year after year. There just might be a little gift waiting inside. 🤎

Busy season, here we go! I’m so grateful to have a calendar full of stories to tell. 🥹🤎

Leave me a comment if you got this far, what would you like to see for Christmas sessions this year?

TOPIC TUESDAY | “Looking for a photographer who doesn’t cost an arm and a leg…”

Let’s talk about it. 👀

I see this phrase ALL the time in local groups: “Looking for a photographer who doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.” And I’ll admit it, every time I read it, it irks me a little.

Not because I think everyone should be able,or willing, to spend a certain amount on photography. Especially in today’s world, I KNOW budgets are tight. Groceries are expensive. Bills are expensive. Raising a family is expensive. Life in general is expensive. We all have budgets, and we all prioritize our money differently. There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying, “My budget is $___, who do you recommend?”

In fact, I will always do what I can to work with different budgets. I intentionally offer smaller, shorter sessions at lower price points because I truly believe everyone deserves to have their story documented. If you love my work but aren’t sure you can afford a full session, reach out to me. Tell me what you’re looking for and what your budget is. If I have an option that works, I will gladly point you toward it. I would much rather have that conversation than have someone assume I’m automatically out of their price range.

But the phrase “doesn’t cost an arm and a leg” hits differently because it can imply that the people charging more are somehow charging too much. And that’s the part I think is worth talking about.

Because when you hire a professional photographer, you aren’t just paying someone to show up with a camera for 30 minutes. You’re paying for cameras, lenses, flashes, batteries, memory cards, computers, hard drives, editing software, gallery delivery systems, backup storage, insurance, website hosting, domain fees, booking software, contracts, payment-processing fees, advertising, marketing, props, client closets and wardrobe pieces, equipment maintenance and replacement, education, workshops, accounting, bookkeeping, mileage, vehicle expenses, location fees when applicable, state and federal taxes…and about a million miscellaneous expenses that come with operating a legitimate business.

And if you’ve ever owned a small business, you already know that list never really ends. 😂

But even all of that isn’t really what I believe you’re paying me for. You’re paying for experience.

I’ve spent years and years learning how to see light, learning my equipment until using it becomes second nature, learning how to photograph a toddler who has absolutely no intention of participating 😂, how to make someone who hates having their picture taken feel comfortable, and how to work with harsh light, cloudy skies, tiny houses, nervous seniors, tired babies, wind, Texas heat and families who swear they’re “awkward in pictures.”

You’re paying for all the sessions that came before yours. The years of learning, practicing, messing up, trying again, growing and honing my craft. You’re paying for the ability to recognize the little moments happening between the “pictures.” You’re paying for me to take your story and turn it into something you can hold onto long after that season of your life has passed.

And then there’s one of the biggest expenses of all: time. There’s the time answering messages before your session, helping you plan, styling, preparing equipment, traveling to your location, actually photographing your session, driving home, backing everything up, culling through hundreds of images and then…the editing. Ohhhh, the editing. 😂 Hours upon hours behind a computer carefully turning those images into a finished gallery.

That 20-minute session isn’t just 20 minutes. That 30-minute session isn’t just 30 minutes. And that hour-long session definitely isn’t just an hour.

But beyond the equipment, expenses, experience and time, for me personally you’re also paying for something I can’t really put on an invoice: my heart.

I care about the stories I photograph. I care about the mom who is usually behind the camera finally being IN the pictures. I care about documenting those little hands before they aren’t so little anymore. I care about the senior standing on the edge of an entirely new chapter. I care about the grandparents surrounded by the family they built. I care about the couple who has chosen each other for 5 years, 25 years or 50 years.

I don’t just want to take a pretty picture of you. I want to tell your story well. And that takes time, experience, investment and a whole lot of heart.

Photography is just my profession, though, and I KNOW this happens everywhere. Hairstylists hear, “Why does a cut and color cost that much?” Bakers hear, “It’s just a cake.” Florists hear, “They’re just flowers.” Graphic designers hear, “It’s just a logo.” House cleaners hear, “It shouldn’t take that long.” Mechanics hear, “But the part only costs $___.” Contractors hear, “I could probably do that myself.” Nail techs, estheticians, tattoo artists, boutique owners, landscapers, caterers, DJs, videographers, artists, makers…the list goes on and on.

Behind almost every small-business price is something the customer never sees: years of experience, overhead, taxes, tools, education, time and risk.

So this is where I want to turn Topic Tuesday over to y’all because I really want this to be a discussion. Small-business owners and professionals: How often do you hear something like this about YOUR profession? What’s the comment about your pricing or industry that makes you want to say, “If you only knew what actually goes into this…”?

And customers, I want your perspective too. Has owning a business, or knowing and supporting someone who does, changed the way you look at pricing?

Different budgets are real. Different price points are necessary. And there’s absolutely room for businesses at all of them. Maybe we can just stop measuring someone’s price by the minutes we physically see them working and start recognizing the years it took them to be able to do that work in those minutes.

And if we’re talking specifically about photography with me: please never be afraid to reach out because of your budget. I offer everything from smaller sessions to full storytelling sessions for that exact reason, and if there’s an option that fits what you need, I’ll help you find it.

No arms or legs required. 😂😂

If you’re a small-business owner who has ever felt this one in your soul, SHARE THIS. I have a feeling this conversation goes way beyond photography.

TOPIC TUESDAY — because sometimes I have thoughts, and I want to hear yours too. 🖤 So let’s talk about it.

HAPPY MONDAY! 🤎🎓

I’m starting this week with a little something that has been on my heart.

Senior year is expensive. Between everything that comes with this final year of high school, I know sometimes senior pictures can feel like one more big expense on an already long list. But I also know how quickly this year goes, and how much these photos will mean to you years from now.

So for TODAY ONLY, I’m opening up FOUR Micro Senior Stories for just $129.

These are for the parents who want beautiful senior pictures of their kid without committing to a full senior session. Your senior still gets the experience, photos that feel like them, and you get to freeze this version of your baby before this chapter closes. 🥹🤎

🎓 MICRO SENIOR STORY | $129

✨ 20 minutes
✨ 1 outfit
✨ 1 Mineral Wells location
✨ 10 edited images
✨ Only FOUR available

These sessions are local to Mineral Wells only and must take place before December 1, 2026. Payment is due in full TODAY to claim the special pricing.

And truly, there is absolutely nothing “less” about a smaller session. Twenty minutes is plenty of time for us to create something beautiful and give you photographs you’ll be pulling out years from now wondering how senior year went by so fast.

This offer is TODAY ONLY, and once the four are claimed, they’re gone.

Parents of Class of 2027 seniors, this one is especially for you. 🤎

Message me to grab one of the FOUR spots!

HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY 🤎

These two right here.

When I think about what grandparents are supposed to be, I think about my mom and stepdad. The ones who show up. Again and again and again.

Games, birthdays, school things, celebrations, ordinary days, hard days, they’re there. No matter what. And when I look at this picture of them surrounded by all of their grandkids, including my own three babies, I realize just how incredibly lucky these kids are.

Because grandparents are such a special part of our stories.

They’re another safe place to land. Another set of arms waiting to hug you. Another person sitting in the stands, cheering you on. They’re traditions and stories and inside jokes. They’re the people who somehow manage to spoil your kids rotten while simultaneously telling you that you’re doing it wrong. 😂🤎

And as my own kids have gotten older, I’ve realized even more how precious these relationships are. Childhood moves ridiculously fast. The little ones become big ones. The grandkids grow up. Everyone gets older. And someday, photographs like these become some of the most valuable things we own.

So today, in honor of Grandparents Day — and because telling the stories of generations together will forever be one of my favorite things to photograph — I’m offering a little GRANDPARENTS DAY FLASH SALE.

🤎 A Grandparents Story | $189

30 minutes • 15 beautifully edited images • BTS video reel included

Bring Grandma. Bring Grandpa. Bring ALLLLL the grandbabies. Or bring the whole immediate family and let’s document this season exactly as it is.

BUY TODAY, BOOK LATER. Sessions can be scheduled during October or November 2026 in the Mineral Wells area.

Because one day these won’t just be pictures.

They’ll be remember when Grandma always…

Remember how Grandpa used to…

They’ll be little hands inside bigger ones. Familiar hugs. Belly laughs. The people who never missed a game, never forgot a birthday and just kept showing up.

And those are the stories worth keeping. 🤎

Available TODAY ONLY for Grandparents Day. Limited number available.

Comment GRANDPARENTS or send me a message to grab yours.

And Happy Grandparents Day to my mom and stepdad. Thank you for always, always showing up for these kids. They are so lucky to have you. 🤎

It’s Sunday, time for another chapter of my Stories That Stayed With Me Series.

This week’s story is The Mendoza Family {2025 session}

Some of my favorite stories to tell aren’t about just one person, one couple, or even one little family. They’re about generations. And this one? This one was so much FUN.

From the minute the Mendoza family showed up, there was laughter. Jokes being thrown back and forth, kids running around, grandbabies being passed from one set of arms to another, couples loving on each other, and that wonderfully familiar kind of chaos that happens when you get an entire family together in one place. I smiled and laughed through this entire session because being around this family just felt good. There was so much personality, so much joy, and underneath all of it, so much love.

And right in the middle of it all were Denise and Jovan. Mom and Dad. The beginning of this beautiful family standing in front of my camera. I remember looking around during this session and thinking, look at what they built. Because when you’re raising your babies, I don’t think you can fully picture this part yet. You’re so deep in the everyday of it, the school mornings and late nights, laundry and dinners, ball games and homework, teenage years and growing pains. You spend years worrying about them, cheering for them, teaching them, loving them and eventually learning to let them go a little at a time. There are days that feel endless while you’re living them, and somehow, before you know it, those babies are grown.

Then they fall in love. They build lives of their own. They bring new people into the family, and some of them have babies of their own. Suddenly, Mom and Dad can stand in the middle of all of it and see that those thousands of ordinary days were quietly building something pretty extraordinary. A family. A legacy. Generations.

That’s what I saw when I looked at Denise and Jovan surrounded by their kids and grandkids. I saw years of life between two people and all the branches that grew from the roots they planted together. I saw grown children who can still laugh and joke with Mom and Dad, couples beginning and continuing stories of their own, and little ones who are now adding an entirely new generation to the family. So many different personalities, different lives and different chapters, all connected by the same story.

And goodness, did this family laugh. That may be one of the things that stayed with me most. Nothing felt stiff or overly serious. There was teasing, silliness, genuine belly laughter and so many moments where I almost forgot I was supposed to be taking pictures because I was laughing right along with them. But beneath all that fun was the kind of love you can just feel. The comfortable kind. The kind with history behind it. The kind that has walked through good seasons and hard ones, celebrated milestones, welcomed new people, held brand-new babies, watched children become adults and continued showing up for one another through all of it.

That is exactly why extended family sessions will forever be some of my favorite stories to tell. These photographs become more valuable with every single year that passes. One day those little ones will be grown, and they’ll look back at these photographs and see how young their parents were. They’ll see their aunts and uncles, their grandparents, and the people who held them and loved them before they were even old enough to remember it. Maybe they’ll notice the laughter. Maybe they’ll see the way everyone naturally gathered around one another. And maybe they’ll understand just a little more about where they came from.

We photograph birthdays, graduations, weddings and all the big milestones, and we absolutely should. But I think there’s something incredibly special about documenting who you were together in an ordinary season of life. No special occasion required. Just Mom and Dad. Their kids. Their grandkids. The laughter. The craziness. The relationships. The family they built.

Mendoza family, thank you for letting me step into your beautiful chaos and laugh right along with you. This was one of those sessions that reminded me exactly why I love what I do. And Denise and Jovan, what a beautiful life you two have created. 🤍

I’d love to know if y’all are enjoying these stories as much as I’m enjoying going back through them and sharing them. Leave me a comment and let me know. 🤍

Happy Sunday to you all.
